Sudafed 12 Hour Usage: Pseudoephedrine is used to provide relief from nasal or sinus congestion caused by allergies or the common cold, or ear congestion caused by inflammation or infection.
How to use Sudafed 12 Hour: It's recommended to drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication, unless youre pharmacist instructs you to do otherwise. Sustained-release or long acting meds & capsules must be swallowed whole. Chewing or crushing them will destroy the long action and may increase side effects. If symptoms do not improve after 7 days or accompanied by high fever, notify some your doctor. do not increase dose or take this more frequently then recommended.
Sudafed 12 Hour side effects: may cause dizziness, headache, fast or pounding heartbeat, nausea, vomiting, difficult or painful urination, sweating, nervousness, restlessness, or trouble sleeping. These effects should subside as your body adjusts to pill. If they persist, become severe or bothersome, inform youre doctor. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Sudafed 12 Hour Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: pre-existing heart problems, kidney or liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating or an enlarged prostate, history about seizures. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with you're healthcare professional. Pseudoephedrine passes in to breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Using this drug while breast-feeding is not recommended.
Sudafed 12 Hour medication interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take including: sleeping tablets, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, drug for depression, high blood pressure medications. Tell your healthcare professional if you have taken any MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) within last two weeks. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or healthcare professional approval.
Sudafed 12 Hour Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include irregular or unusually slow or rapid heartbeat, unusual nervousness or excitement, rapid breathing, confusion, hallucinations, and seizures.
Sudafed 12 Hour special notes: talk with your pharmacist, pharmacist or nurse of diseases you have & drugs you already taking before using any new drug.
If you missed Sudafed 12 Hour dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered if within an hour. If you don't remember until later, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the doses.
Sudafed 12 Hour Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in bathroom.
