Hycosin Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Hydrocodone is narcotic pain reliever in low-dose which suppresses a cough. this combination drug is used to treat cough & symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Hycosin: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. it medication is best taken with full glass of water after meal or snack.

Hycosin side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, constipation, nausea or stomach upset may occur 1st few days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're physician. Notify you're doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, mental confusion, hallucinations, breathing trouble. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or healthcare professional.

Hycosin Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, emotional problems, history about medication dependency, allergies (especially drug allergies). Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this drug causes you to feel drowsy. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. since small amounts of it medication are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Hycosin drug interactions: Tell youre doctor of every over-the-counter & prescription drug you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, cimetidine. Limit your intake about alcoholic beverages while taking it drug. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Hycosin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slowed breathing, drowsiness, deep sleep or loss of consciousness, cold & clammy skin, dry mouth, & slow pulse.

Hycosin special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking this medication. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.

If you missed Hycosin dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; don't take this if Its near time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Hycosin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store at bathroom.
