Tamiflu Usage: this medication is used to treat illness (symptoms) caused by flu virus (influenza). Oseltamivir is also used to prevent the flu (e.g., in household members exposed to a flu sufferer).

How to use Tamiflu: Take it medication by mouth as directed by your healthcare professional. You may take this with food or milk to minimize stomach upset. Take it as soon as flu symptoms appear or as soon as possible after you have been exposed (both within 48 hours). Shake the bottle well before each dose. If you have flu: Take oseltamivir twice a day for 5 days, once in morning & one time in the evening. Complete entire treatment of 10 doses. To prevent flu: Take oseltamivir once day for at least 7 days or take this exactly as prescribed by you're pharmacist. An oral dosing dispenser should be provided with this medication. Measure each dose carefully as indicated on oral dispenser. If you lose or damage oral dispenser, use device (e.g., oral syringe) that will accurately measure 1.25ml (one- quarter teaspoonful) portions. Consult your pharmacist. this drug works best when the amount of medicine in youre body is kept at constant level. Therefore, take it drug at same times each day. Continue to take this drug until the full-prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a several days. Stopping drug too early may result in relapse of the infection or may not sufficiently protect you from the flu. Inform you're physician if you're condition worsens or if new symptoms appear. If you are uncertain how to use this medication, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Tamiflu side effects: Nausea & vomiting may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify some your doctor. Tell your pharmacist immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: dizziness, persistent cough. Tell youre doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: persistent weakness, fever, sore throat. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.

Tamiflu Precautions: Tell youre doctor your medical history, especially about: kidney problems, allergies (especially drug allergies). this tablet may make you dizzy. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. it medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your healthcare professional. it is not known whether this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Tamiflu medication interactions: Tell your doctor of every prescription & nonprescription medication you may use. don't start or stop any medicine with-out doctor or doctor approval.

Tamiflu Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Tamiflu special notes: do not share this drug with others. Consult your doctor of risks & important benefits of receiving yearly flu shot (vaccination) to prevent infection.

If you missed Tamiflu dose: If you miss a dose, use this as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of next dose (within two hours), skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.

Tamiflu Storage: Before mixing, store the dry powder at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). one time mixed, suspension is good for 10 days & should be refrigerated between 36 & 46 degrees F (2-8 degrees C). don't freeze.
