Valtrex Usage: Valacyclovir is an antiviral agent used in the treatment of shingles (herpes zoster) or genital herpes. this med may also be used since cold sores (herpes simplex).
How to use Valtrex: Take this drug by mouth as directed. Take every this drug as prescribed. do not skip doses or stop taking it without some your doctor's approval. Stopping therapy too soon may result in ineffective treatment. for best results, take this tablet at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day & night.
Valtrex side effects: Nausea, vomiting, headache, loss about appetite, weakness, stomach pain, or dizziness may occur 1'st some days as youre body adjusts to the drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're physician. Notify youre healthcare professional if you're condition does not appear to improve or you experience worsening of symptoms while taking this drug. Use caution operating machinery or participating in activities requiring alertness if this tablet makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or physician.
Valtrex Precautions: Tell you're pharmacist if you have: kidney disease, blood disorders, any allergies. Caution is advised when using it med in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to effects of the medication. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. It's not known if this medication appears in breast milk. Consult with your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Valtrex pill interactions: Tell you're physician of any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take including: cimetidine, probenecid. don't start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Valtrex Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include sluggishness, change in amount of urine, loss of consciousness, or seizures.
Valtrex special notes: this drug is most effective if this is started within 48 hours about when the rash first appears.
If you missed Valtrex dose: Try to take each dose at the scheduled clock. If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if Its near the time for following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Valtrex Storage: Store this medication at room temperature between 59 & 77 degrees F (15 to 25 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in bathroom. Keep this & all drugs out of the reach of children.
