Warning: Lactic acid build-up in blood (lactic acidosis) & severe liver disease, including fatal, have been reported with use about lamivudine, either alone or in combination with other drugs used to treat people immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection (e.g., zidovudine, ritonavir). HIV counseling & testing should be offered both before & during treatment to all patients using lamivudine-HBV. Lamivudine-HBV contains a lower dose of drug lamivudine used to treat HIV infection. Use about lamivudine-HBV in patients with unknown or untreated HIV infection could result in resistant strains about HIV. Consult you're doctor or pharmacist since more information.

Epivir Hbv Usage: Lamivudine-HBV is nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor used to treat a chronic viral infection about liver (hepatitis B). it works by slowing the growth about the virus. it is not cure for hepatitis B and does not prevent the passing of hepatitis B to others.
How to use Epivir Hbv: Take this medication by mouth, usually once daily; or take as directed by your pharmacist. May take with or without food. Take it med exactly as prescribed. don't increase or decrease your dose or stop taking this medication unless directed to do so by youre physician or pharmacist. safety and effectiveness about this med after one year of use has not been established. optimal duration of use about this med is unknown. Consult your pharmacist or pharmacist for more information. Lamivudine-HBV isn't appropriate for treatment of patients infected with both hepatitis B and HIV. An HIV test is recommended both before & during treatment to ensure you receive appropriate treatment. Consult some your doctor or pharmacist for more information. Worsening of your condition, decreased response to therapy, or occurrence about resistant strains of virus may occur during or after treatment. Promptly report any new symptoms that occur during or after treatment to your physician.
Epivir Hbv side effects: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, or headache may occur. If any about these effects persist or worsen, contact your pharmacist or doctor promptly. Tell some your pharmacist immediately if any of these side effects occur: fatigue, sore throat, fever. Tell your physician immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: mental/mood changes, persistent or severe stomach pain, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine. Tell your healthcare professional immediately if any of these highly unlikely but serious side effects occur: rapid breathing, tingling or numbness of the hands or feet. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact youre pharmacist or physician.
Epivir Hbv Precautions: Tell you're pharmacist your medical history especially about: infection with HIV, kidney problems, liver problems, blood disorders, pancreas problems, alcohol use, allergies (especially drug allergies). this drug may make you dizzy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Avoid alcoholic beverages. Liquid preparations of lamivudine can contain sugar (sucrose); caution is advised in patients with diabetes. If you are diabetic, close monitoring of your blood sugar is recommended as you begin using this drug. Ask your physician or physician for more details. Caution is advised when using this drug in children (especially in children with pancreatitis) because they may be more sensitive to effects of this drug. this medication must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. this medication has not been shown to affect transmission of hepatitis B from mother to infant. Consult some your pharmacist for more information. it isn't known if lamivudine passes into breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Epivir Hbv medication interactions: Tell your physician of all prescription & nonprescription tablets you may use, especially of: trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, current or previous use of HIV drugs (e.g., lamivudine, zidovudine), zalcitabine. it product can affect results of certain lab tests (e.g., liver). Make sure laboratory personnel and you're doctors know you use it drug. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Epivir Hbv Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control or emergency room immediately.
Epivir Hbv special notes: do not share it medication with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed to monitor youre progress. Keep all laboratory & medical appointments during & for several months after treatment.
If you missed Epivir Hbv dose: If you miss dose, use this as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the following dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Epivir Hbv Storage: Store at room temperature between 68 & 77 degrees F (20 to 25 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
