Warning: Infrequently, severe (sometimes fatal) liver & blood acid-base balance problems (lactic acidosis) have occurred while using this drug. death lactic acidosis has also occurred during pregnancy when this tablet was used in combination with didanosine & other drugs used to treat HIV. Rare cases about muscle weakness/paralysis have occurred (similar to Guillain- Barre syndrome), especially in those with lactic acidosis. Notify your doctor immediately if you develop dark urine, yellowing of the skin or eyes, abdominal or stomach pain, rapid breathing, drowsiness, muscle aches or weakness, or trouble breathing (e.g., very shallow breathing). When used in combination with certain medicines, pancreatitis (sometimes fatal) has occurred on rare occasions. Notify you're pharmacist immediately if you develop severe stomach/abdominal pain.

Zerit Usage: this medication is used in combination with other medications to treat HIV infection. Stavudine isn't cure for HIV and does not prevent the passing about HIV to others.
How to use Zerit: Shake well before using. this drug may be taken with or with-out meals. Take this exactly as directed. for best results, space the doses at even intervals throughout the day (and night if directed by your doctor). this will help ensure an even level of pill in body at every times. Ask your pharmacist or pharmacist to help devise dosing schedule best for you. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. you're condition will not improve faster but the risk about side effects may be increased.
Zerit side effects: the majority of the common side effect of this medication is peripheral neuropathy (nerve disorder). Symptoms of peripheral neuropathy are numbness, tingling, burning or pain of hands or feet. Notify you're pharmacist if you develop any of these. Headache, diarrhea or nausea or loss about appetite may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your pharmacist promptly. Notify your healthcare professional if any of these serious side effects occur: chills, fever, sore throat, itching, rash, changes in body fat, muscle aches, trouble sleeping, unusual bleeding or bruising, stomach pain, yellowing of the eyes or skin, dark urine, rapid breathing. Changes in body fat may occur while you are taking this medication (e.g., increased fat at upper back & stomach areas, decreased fat in arms and legs). the cause & long-term effects of these changes are unknown. Discuss the risks & benefits about therapy with your doctor, as well as possible role of exercise to reduce it side effect. in the unlikely chapter you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, breathing trouble. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact youre healthcare professional or physician.
Zerit Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially about: kidney or liver disease, pancreatitis, nerve disease, heart disease, major injury/surgery or infection, alcohol use, any allergies. it medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. it is not known if this medication appears in people breast milk. Avoid breast-feeding in order to protect the newborn from possible HIV transmission.
Zerit drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take especially: another drugs used to treat HIV disease (e.g., zidovudine, lamivudine). do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or pharmacist approval.
Zerit Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Zerit special notes: it drug does not cure HIV infection nor does it reduce risk of transmission of HIV to others through sexual contact or blood contamination.
If you missed Zerit dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If It's within two hours about following dose, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. it is important not to miss doses of it med.
Zerit Storage: Prior to mixing with water it drug should be stored at room temperature between 59 to 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C). Keep away from excessive moisture (do not store in bathroom). 1 time mixed with water it drug is to be refrigerated between 36 to 46 degrees F (2 to 8 degrees C). Discard any unused solution after 30 days. Keep out of reach about children.
