Esmolol HCL Usage: this drug is used for temporary control of heart rate and blood pressure.
How to use Esmolol HCL: it pill is diluted then given continuously by vein (IV infusion). Dosage is based on your medical condition & response to therapy. Follow all instructions for proper mixing and dilution. Consult you're pharmacist if you unclear on any instructions of use. money visually for particles or discoloration before use. If present, do not use medication.
Esmolol HCL side effects: Nausea & drowsiness may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify you're physician. Report promptly any: dizziness, sweating, pain/redness at injection site. Unlikely but report promptly: mental/mood changes, headache, rash. Very unlikely but report promptly: chest pain, swelling, trouble breathing, unusually slow or irregular pulse, changes at skin color, fainting, seizures. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact youre physician or healthcare professional.
Esmolol HCL Precautions: Tell your pharmacist youre medical history, including: any allergies, heart disease, kidney disease, low blood pressure (hypotension), breathing problems (asthma or COPD), diabetes. Limit alcohol intake, as this may intensify drug side effects. this drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with some your doctor. It's not known whether this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult some your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Esmolol HCL medication interactions: Tell your doctor about every nonprescription & prescription medication you may use, especially: other beta-blockers (e.g., propranolol, metoprolol), 'calcium channel blockers' (e.g., verapamil, diltiazem, nifedipine), digoxin, morphine, NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen), arbutamine, dopamine, succinylcholine, epinephrine/norepinephrine, other blood pressure medicine (e.g., reserpine, clonidine), 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin), St John's wort. it drug can block few effects of adrenaline (epinephrine), which is a drug used to treat allergic emergencies. Consult your doctor. Also report use of drugs causing drowsiness such as: antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline, fluoxetine, sertraline), sedatives, tranquilizers, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine). do not mix this drug with sodium bicarbonate IV fluids. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Esmolol HCL Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Esmolol HCL special notes: do not share this drug with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed to monitor for side effects or response to treatment.
If you missed Esmolol HCL dose: If some your dose is interrupted, contact your healthcare professional or physician immediately to re-establish dosing.
Esmolol HCL Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 - 30 degrees C) away from light & moisture. After mixing and dilution in IV fluids (consult your physician for details), this product is stable at room temperature for 24 hours. Discard any unused product.
