Glyset Usage: this medication is used to treat diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent heart disease, strokes, kidney disease, circulation problems, & blindness.
How to use Glyset: Take by mouth, three times daily with the 1st bite of meal, as directed. Dosage is based on your medical condition & response to therapy. your dosage may be adjusted to determine most effective dose for you.
Glyset side effects: Stomach pain, gas or diarrhea may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify you're pharmacist promptly. Unlikely but report promptly: rash. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.
Glyset Precautions: Tell youre doctor youre medical history, including: allergies, kidney disease, very high blood glucose (diabetic ketoacidosis), stomach/intestine/bowel disease (e.g., inflammatory bowel disease, digestion problems). During times of stress, such as fever, infection, injury or surgery, it may be more difficult to control your blood sugar. Consult your doctor as additional medication may be required. Consult your pharmacist or pharmacist to learn the symptoms of high or low blood sugar. some symptoms about high blood sugar include thirst & increased urination. Low blood sugar can cause you to feel shaky, sweaty, hungry or have an increased pulse. Because miglitol prevents the breakdown about table sugar, you should have readily available source of glucose (such as glucose tablets) to treat symptoms of low blood sugar if taking miglitol in combination with other medications to treat diabetes. Consult youre pharmacist for details. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using it drug. this drug is excreted into breast milk. Because of potential risk to infant, breast-feeding while using this med isn't recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Glyset drug interactions: Tell your doctor about all prescription and nonprescription drug you may use, especially about: all diabetes drugs (e.g., sulfonylurea drugs such as glyburide), drugs that help digestive process (e.g., amylase, pancreatin), charcoal. do not start or stop any medicine with out physician or pharmacist approval.
Glyset Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include severe gas, diarrhea, or stomach pain.
Glyset special notes: do not share this medication with others. it is recommended you attend a diabetes education program to understand diabetes & all important aspects of Its treatment including meals/diet, exercise, personal hygiene, medication & getting regular eye, foot & medical exams. Consult your physician or pharmacist. Keep all medical appointments. Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g., liver & kidney function tests, fasting blood glucose, hemoglobin A1c, complete blood counts) will be performed to monitor since side effects and response to therapy. Regularly USD your blood or urine since sugar, as directed by your doctor or physician.
If you missed Glyset dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. If It's near time about next dose, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Glyset Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
