Verelan Pm Usage: this drug is calcium channel blocker. Calcium is involved in blood vessel contraction & in controlling electrical impulses within the heart. By blocking calcium, verapamil relaxes & widens blood vessels and can normalize heartbeats. Verapamil is used to treat HBP.

Verelan Pm can be used also for: it medication may also be used to help prevent chest pain (angina) or to treat irregular heartbeats.

How to use Verelan Pm: capsule form of this drug may be taken without regard to meals. this drug must be taken as directed to prevent chest pain. it is not effective if taken only when chest pain occurs. don't stop taking this medication suddenly without your doctor's permission. Chest pain can occur if med is stopped too fast. some your dose may need to be gradually decreased.

Verelan Pm side effects: it drug may cause dizziness & lightheadedness especially during 1st several days. Avoid activities requiring alertness. When you sit or lie down for a while, get up slowly to allow your body to adjust & minimize dizziness. You may also experience bloating, heartburn, nausea, blurred vision, muscle cramps, headache, flushing, constipation. These effects should disappear as youre body adjusts to the drug. Inform some your pharmacist if they become bothersome. Notify you're pharmacist immediately if you develop: breathing difficulties, swelling of hands or feet, irregular heartbeats, fever, malaise, stomach/abdominal pain, yellowing of skin & eyes, dark urine. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Verelan Pm Precautions: Before using this med, tell youre physician your medical history, including: allergies (especially drug allergies), heart problems (e.g., heart rhythm disturbances, heart failure), liver or kidney disease, very LBP, muscular dystrophy, brain tumors (cancer). Before heart surgery, tell your doctor you use this medicine. Verapamil prolongs & intensifies effects of alcohol in youre system. Avoid (or very carefully limit) alcoholic beverages while using this drug. Caution is advised when this drug is used in elderly. this tablet should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. this pill is excreted into breast milk and decision should be made whether to stop the drug or avoid breast-feeding. Consult some your doctor before breast-feeding.

Verelan Pm drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist of every prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: anticoagulants ('blood thinners'), beta-blockers, intravenous (IV) calcium, timolol ophthalmic, digoxin, disopyramide, hypertension medication, quinidine, carbamazepine, rifampin, cimetidine, lithium, flecainide, cyclosporine. Avoid any pills that increase some your heart-rate (the decongestants phenylephrine, pseudoephedrine & phenylpropanolamine are examples). These drugs are commonly found in over-the-counter cough-and-cold products. do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice unless your physician instructs you otherwise. don't start or stop any medicine with-out physician or doctor approval.

Verelan Pm Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include rapid, slow, or irregular heartbeat; dizziness; fainting; & loss of consciousness.

Verelan Pm special notes: Laboratory tests (e.g., liver function tests) should be performed periodically to monitor for side effects. do not share this medication with others.

If you missed Verelan Pm dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if Its almost time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Verelan Pm Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight & moisture.

Medical alert: your condition can cause complications in a medical emergency.
