Nimotop Usage: this drug is used to improve symptoms caused by spasms as a result about brain hemorrhage (ruptured blood vessels).
How to use Nimotop: Take this medication exactly as prescribed. If capsules can not be swallowed, liquid inside the capsule may be taken out & given through feeding tube. for best results, this medication must be started within 4 days of brain hemorrhage and given every 4 hours for 3 weeks.
Nimotop side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, diarrhea, headache, slowed pulse or flushing may occur 1'st few days as your body adjusts to drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Notify youre healthcare professional if you develop: depression, mood changes, skin rash, swelling hands or feet, shortness of breath, wheezing, muscle cramps, unusual bruising or bleeding. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre pharmacist or physician.
Nimotop Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: heart problems, lung disease, allergies (especially drug allergies). this med should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with youre physician. Its not known if this tablet appears in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Nimotop med interactions: Tell your physician of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take, especially of: blood pressure tablets, intravenous (IV) calcium, heart drugs. Avoid any drugs that increase youre heart-rate (the decongestants phenylephrine, pseudoephedrine and phenylpropanolamine are examples). These drugs are commonly found in over-the-counter cough-and-cold products. do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice unless your pharmacist instructs you otherwise. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Nimotop Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include dizziness, weakness, slowed or irregular heartbeat, nausea, drowsiness, confusion, & slurred speech.
Nimotop special notes: this drug has been used in treatment of migraine headache.
If you missed Nimotop dose: Try to take each dose at scheduled time. If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if it is near the time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Nimotop Storage: Store this drug at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 & 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom. Keep it & every medications out of reach about children.
