Felodipine - oral extended release

Plendil Usage: this med is calcium channel blocker. Calcium is involved at blood vessel contraction. By blocking calcium, felodipine relaxes and widens blood vessels. It's used to treat high blood pressure.
Plendil canbe used also since: it medication may also be used for chest pain (angina).
How to use Plendil: tablets should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew meds. it drug must be taken as directed to reduce blood pressure. it should be taken even if you do not feel sick. most human with hypertension do not have any symptoms. Try to take this med at the same time each day. do not stop taking this drug suddenly without your doctor's permission. few conditions can become worse if the med is stopped too fast. this drug is best taken without food (one hour before or two hours after a meal). If stomach upset occurs, it may be taken with light meal.
Plendil side effects: this drug can cause dizziness and lightheadedness especially during 1st some days. Avoid activities requiring alertness. When you sit or lie down for while, get up slowly to minimize dizziness & allow you're body to adjust. You may also experience headache, flushing, nausea, tingling hands and feet, cough, sleep disturbances and swollen gums. These effects should disappear as youre body adjusts to drug. Inform your physician if they become bothersome. Notify youre pharmacist if you develop: breathing difficulties, swelling of the face/hands/feet, an irregular heartbeat. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Plendil Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: heart problems, liver disease, allergies (especially tablet allergies). this drug must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. it isn't known if felodipine appears in breast milk; consult your physician before breast-feeding. Limit alcohol while taking this tablet as it can enhance dizziness. this med can cause enlargement of gums. this can be minimized by maintaining great oral hygiene with regular brushing, flossing and massaging of the gums.
Plendil medication interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take, including: sedatives, tranquilizers, macrolide antibiotics (e.g., erythromycin, clarithromycin), intravenous (IV) calcium, azole antifungals (e.g., itraconazole, ketoconazole), cimetidine, ranitidine, phenytoin, beta-blockers (e.g., propranolol), carbamazepine, digoxin, theophylline. Avoid any drugs that increase you're heart-rate (the decongestants phenylephrine, pseudoephedrine & phenylpropanolamine are examples). These drugs are commonly found in over-the-counter cough-and-cold products. do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice unless your physician instructs you otherwise. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or doctor approval.
Plendil Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness, weakness, slowed or irregular heartbeat, nausea, drowsiness, confusion, & slurred speech.
Plendil special notes: do not share it product with others.
If you missed Plendil dose: Take missed dose as soon as you remember; do not take if It's almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Plendil Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. do not store in the bathroom.
Medical alert: your condition may cause complications in a medical emergency.
