Procardia Usage: this drug is a calcium channel blocker. Calcium is involved in blood vessel contraction. By blocking calcium, nifedipine relaxes & widens blood vessels. It's used to treat chest pain (angina). Ask your doctor or physician about possible problems related to use about short-acting calcium channel blockers.

How to use Procardia: Capsules should be swallowed whole with full glass of water unless youre doctor directs you otherwise. this medication must be taken as directed to prevent chest pain. it is not effective if taken only when chest pain occurs. do not stop taking it med suddenly without talking with youre physician. Chest pain can occur if the medication is stopped too fast. your dose may need to be gradually decreased.

Procardia side effects: this drug can cause dizziness & lightheadedness especially during 1st few days. Avoid activities requiring alertness. When you sit or lie down for while, get up slowly to minimize dizziness & allow your body to adjust. You may also experience bloating, heartburn, nausea, blurred vision, muscle cramps, headache, flushing, sweating and sleep disturbances. These effects should disappear as your body adjusts to medication. Inform your healthcare professional if they become bothersome. Notify some your healthcare professional if you develop: swelling of hands or feet, irregular heartbeat. in the unlikely series you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek healthcare professional attention immediately. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Procardia Precautions: Before having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the healthcare professional that you take it medication. Tell your doctor of any diseases you have especially of: liver disease, congestive heart failure, any allergies. do not allow anyone else to take this tablet. Limit using alcohol while taking this medication. this medication must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your physician. this drug is excreted into breast milk. Though no problems have been noted, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Procardia drug interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription meds you taking, especially about: beta-blockers, digoxin, quinidine, cimetidine, warfarin, intravenous (IV) calcium, barbiturates, phenytoin, magnesium sulfate injection, fentanyl, high blood pressure drugs, St John's wort. Avoid any drugs that increase youre heart-rate (the decongestants phenylephrine, pseudoephedrine and phenylpropanolamine are examples). These drugs are commonly found at over-the-counter cough-and-cold products. do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice unless you're pharmacist instructs you otherwise. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.

Procardia Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include rapid, slow, or irregular heartbeat; dizziness; fainting; and loss of consciousness.

Procardia special notes: don't share this product with others.

If you missed Procardia dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if It's almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Procardia Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in bathroom.

Medical alert: your condition can cause complications in medical emergency.
