Nisoldipine sustained action - oral

Sular Usage: this drug is a calcium channel blocker. Calcium is involved in blood vessel contraction. By blocking calcium, nisoldipine relaxes & widens the blood vessels. it is used to treat high blood pressure.
Sular can be used also for: this drug may also be used for chest pain (angina).
How to use Sular: May be taken with or with-out food usually one time daily. do not take with high fat meal. do not chew, divide or crush. pills should be swallowed whole preferably with full glass of water. do not stop taking suddenly.
Sular side effects: this drug may cause dizziness & lightheadedness especially during first several days. Avoid activities requiring alertness. When you sit or lie down for while, get up slowly to minimize dizziness & allow your body to adjust. You may also experience bloating, heartburn, nausea, blurred vision, muscle cramps, headache, flushing, sweating & sleep disturbances. These effects should disappear as you're body adjusts to the drug. Inform you're physician if they become bothersome. Notify your pharmacist if you develop: breathing difficulties, rash, swelling about hands or feet, weight gain, chest pain, irregular heartbeat. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Sular Precautions: Before having surgery, including dental surgery, tell doctor that you take this medication. Tell youre physician youre medical history, especially of: liver disease, heart failure, allergies (especially drug allergies). Limit using alcohol while taking it drug. this pill should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre doctor. It's not known if this medication appears in breast milk. Consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Sular drug interactions: Tell your physician of every over-the-counter or prescription drugs you use, especially of: other blood pressure drug, intravenous (IV) calcium, cimetidine, phenytoin. Avoid any drugs that increase your heart rate (the decongestants phenylephrine, pseudoephedrine and phenylpropanolamine are examples). These drugs are commonly found in over-the-counter cough-and-cold products. do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice unless you're doctor instructs you otherwise. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or healthcare professional approval.
Sular Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness, weakness, slowed or irregular heartbeat, nausea, drowsiness, confusion, & slurred speech.
Sular special notes: don't allow anyone else to take this med.
If you missed Sular dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; don't take if it is almost clock for next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Sular Storage: Store below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) and away from moisture & sunlight. don't store in the bathroom.
