    Fosamax Usage: this version of alendronate is used for certain cases of osteoporosis, disease that weakens bones.

    How to use Fosamax: this medication must be taken on an empty stomach in least 30 minutes before eating or drinking anything other than water (including other medicines or vitamins). Take this medication with full glass (6-8 oz or 180 ml-240 ml) about plain water once each week unless your doctor directs you otherwise. Swallow the tablets whole. don't suck or chew them. do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking this med.

    Fosamax side effects: most common side effect is stomach pain. other less common side effects are nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach fullness, gas, constipation, diarrhea, headache or altered taste. Notify some your doctor if you notice: an increase in muscle or bone pain, severe heartburn or chest pain, black or tarry stools. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact you're doctor or pharmacist.

    Fosamax Precautions: this medication should not be used by patients with kidney disease, low blood calcium levels, or if allergic to biphosphonates. effects of it medication have not been studied in children. Tell your doctor if you have: trouble swallowing, history of ulcers, another gastrointestinal problems. It's also important to not smoke and to limit amount about alcohol used as these can increase risk of osteoporosis. this drug should not be used by pregnant or nursing women.

    Fosamax med interactions: Tell your doctor of every prescription & nonprescription tablets you may use, especially of: estrogens, aspirin & other arthritis tablet (NSAID such as ibuprofen). do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or physician approval.

    Fosamax Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include stomach upset or pain, heartburn, & esophageal pain.

    Fosamax special notes: Its very important to not take it med with anything other than water. Even juice and coffee have been found to interfere with Its absorption. Exercising regularly & acquiring calcium in the diet via eating well-balanced meals can help reduce the risk about osteoporosis. some your doctor will advise you if you should take supplemental calcium as well as vitamin D.

    If you missed Fosamax dose: If you should miss dose, take it the following morning after you remember. than resume taking your weekly dose on youre originally scheduled day about the week. do not take two doses on same day. Consult your pharmacist or pharmacist.

    Fosamax Storage: Store this drug between 58 & 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from moisture. do not store in bathroom.
