    Lanoxin Pediatric Usage: this medication is used to treat heart problems, including irregular heartbeat or congestive heart failure.

    How to use Lanoxin Pediatric: this drug is given by injection into a vein(IV) or (infrequently) in to muscle (IM). the dosage is variable, depending on diseases involved, the person's age, kidney function among other factors. a larger initial dose may be given (loading dose) followed by once day doses until oral pill can be used in adults. in newborns, dosage is variable. Beyond newborn stage, children's doses are larger then adult doses per kilogram of weight up to age 10. child over 10 years of age usually receives an adult dose, adjusted since body weight.

    Lanoxin Pediatric side effects: Report promptly any loss of appetite, irregular heartbeat/palpitations, drowsiness, nausea, diarrhea or constipation, abdominal pain, vomiting, headache, fatigue, muscle weakness or vision changes. Unlikely but report promptly: dizziness, fainting, mood changes, confusion, mental or emotional changes. Very unlikely but report promptly: black stool, seizures. Notify your pharmacist immediately in unlikely event an allergic reaction occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: difficulty breathing, skin rash, itching. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your physician or physician.

    Lanoxin Pediatric Precautions: Before using it pill, tell youre doctor your medical history, including: allergies (especially med allergies), heart problems, lung or kidney diseases, high blood pressure, low thyroid function (hypothyroid), low potassium levels. Limit alcohol intake (e.g., certain liquid medications containing alcohol) since side effects of this drug may be increased by alcohol. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your physician. this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. Caution is advised when this drug is used in elderly.

    Lanoxin Pediatric drug interactions: Tell your physician of all nonprescription & prescription medication you may use, especially: water pills (diuretics), amphotericin, acarbose, corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), corticotropin, edetate, laxatives, sodium polystyrene sulfonate (Kayexalate), glucagon, calcium (IV), quinidine, procainamide, propranolol, amiodarone, propafenone, certain calcium channel blockers (e.g., verapamil, diltiazem), itraconazole, indomethacin, succinylcholine. Also report use of drugs that make you drowsy, such as: tranquilizers, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), sleeping tablets, sedatives, anti-anxiety medicines, certain antihistamines, (e.g., diphenhydramine), muscle relaxants, anti-seizure drugs, St John's wort. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.

    Lanoxin Pediatric Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include changes in vision, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, weakness, & irregular heartbeat.

    Lanoxin Pediatric special notes: Heart monitoring & blood tests are performed during treatment with digoxin injection.

    If you missed Lanoxin Pediatric dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of following dose, skip missed dose and consult your doctor or pharmacist for new dosing plan.

    Lanoxin Pediatric Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 77 degrees F (15-25 degrees C) away from light & moisture.

    Medical alert: your condition can cause complications in a medical emergency.
