    Carbamazepine suspension - oral

    Warning: this tablet has rarely caused blood disorders (aplastic anemia, agranulocytosis). Promptly notify your physician if you experience sore throat, fever, unusual weakness or fatigue, unusual bleeding or bruising. You will be monitored to minimize the possibility about these symptoms occurring.

    Tegretol Usage: this medication is used to treat seizure disorders & certain types of nerve pain.

    Tegretol can be used also for: this drug may also be used for emotional/mental conditions, in certain substance abuse rehabilitation programs, and has other uses as well.

    How to use Tegretol: Shake well before taking each dose. May take with food to prevent stomach upset. Take this med exactly as prescribed. don't increase dose or stop taking this medication suddenly with out 1-st consulting you're healthcare professional. for seizure control, it is important to take every doses on time to keep level of medication in your blood constant. Take doses at evenly spaced intervals throughout day & night. Separate doses of it medication from other liquid medicines by at least 2 hours.

    Tegretol side effects: may cause drowsiness, dizziness or blurred vision. other side effects include stomach upset, loss of appetite, dry mouth, mood changes, changes at vision, muscle aches, & restlessness. These should subside as your body adjusts to drug. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. Notify your doctor if you develop: a sore throat, fever, chills, stomach pain, unusual bleeding or bruising, yellowing about eyes or skin, dark urine, decreased sexual ability, hair loss, nightmares, mouth sores, ringing in ears. this drug can increase sensitivity to sunlight. Avoid prolonged sun exposure. Wear a sunscreen and protective clothing. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to it drug, seek immeditial medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

    Tegretol Precautions: Before using it drug tell youre doctor youre medical history especially of: glaucoma, HBP, blood clots, blood disorders, heart or blood vessel problems, liver disease, mental/emotional conditions, any medication allergies. Use caution performing tasks that require alertness (e.g., driving) & limit alcohol consumption. Carbamazepine isn't recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your physician before taking this drug. it drug is excreted at to breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

    Tegretol drug interactions: Tell you're pharmacist about all over-the-counter and prescription medication you may use including: anti-seizure medication, birth control tablets, doxycycline, warfarin, danazol, erythromycin-like antibiotics, calcium channel blockers, lithium, haloperidol, certain SSRI antidepressants, nefazodone, cimetidine, propoxyphene, isoniazid, narcotic pain medications (e.g., codeine), St John's wort. Tell your pharmacist if you have taken MAO inhibitors (e.g., (e.g., furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) within the last 2 weeks. Be very careful to read all labels on any over-the-counter preparations used to treat cough & colds, allergies or sleeplessness. They may add to the drowsiness effects of this drug. Consult your pharmacist about this before using any of these products. Carbamazepine may decrease the effectiveness of birth control tablets; you may need to use additional birth control methods. don't eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice unless your pharmacist instructs you otherwise. this drug may interfere with certain pregnancy tests. do not start or stop any medicine with out pharmacist or pharmacist approval.

    Tegretol Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, deep sleep, tremor, rapid eye movements, fast heartbeat, muscle twitching, big pupils, fainting, & irregular breathing.

    Tegretol special notes: It's recommended you wear or carry identification that shows you are using this med. do not share this medication with others.

    If you missed Tegretol dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if this is almost time for the following dose. Instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up. Call your physician if you miss more than one dose daily.

    Tegretol Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in the bathroom. do not freeze.

    Medical alert: you're condition may cause complications in medical emergency.
