    Warning: Smoking cigarettes while using this medication increases your chance of having heart problems. do not smoke while using this medication. risk of heart problems increases with age (in woman greater than 35 years of age) & with frequent smoking (15 cigarettes per day or greater).

    Yasmin 28 Usage: it combination medication is used to prevent pregnancy. this drug does not protect you or your partner against sexually transmitted diseases (e.g., HIV, gonorrhea).

    Yasmin 28 can be used also for: this drug may also be used to regulate youre menstrual cycle.

    How to use Yasmin 28: Take this med by mouth once daily, or as directed by your pharmacist. the manufacturer recommends that you take this product after your evening meal or at bedtime to help you remember to take it & to minimize any stomach upset or nausea you may have. You may, however, select to take this drug at another clock of day instead. No matter what dosing schedule you use, It's important to take it med in the same time each day. it is recommended to start taking it drug on the 1st day of your period (menstrual cycle). If it isnot possible to start it treatment at start about your period, consult product information and/or your doctor or pharmacist for proper instructions. it is recommended that you use an alternative method of birth control during 1st week of taking it drug until full benefit about this med takes effect.

    Yasmin 28 side effects: Nausea, vomiting, headache, diarrhea, bleeding between menstrual periods (spotting), weight gain, acne, stomach cramps, rash, swelling or bloating, skin spots, breast tenderness, or difficulty wearing contact lenses may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify youre doctor promptly. Tell you're physician immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: dizziness, flu-like symptoms (e.g., fever, cough, unusual weakness/fatigue, sore throat, muscle aches), mental/mood changes, trouble sleeping, hair loss, vaginal infections. Tell some your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: severe headache, pain in the lower legs or groin, trouble breathing, chest pain, vision changes, severe stomach pain, one-sided weakness, yellowing eyes or skin, lumps in breast. If you notice any another effects not listed above, contact you're pharmacist or pharmacist.

    Yasmin 28 Precautions: Tell youre healthcare professional some your medical history, especially of: heart problems, stroke, gallbladder disease, diabetes, high cholesterol or triglyceride levels, high blood pressure, migraines, seizures, irregular vaginal bleeding, depression, any allergies. this medication is not recommended for use if you have following medical conditions: liver problems, kidney or adrenal gland problems, history of blood clots (thrombophlebitis), blood vessel problems (e.g., cerebral vascular disease, coronary artery disease), history of certain cancers (especially endometrial or breast cancer), heavy smoking (especially if older than 35 years of age). If you near-sighted or wear contact lenses, you may develop vision problems or have trouble wearing your contact lenses. Contact some your eye doctor if it occurs. If you stop taking this birth control medicine & want to become pregnant, it may take a longer time than is usually seen with women not taking birth control medicine. Consult your doctor. do not smoke cigarettes. Birth control meds combined with smoking cigarettes, especially in wonen older than 35 years of age, puts you at much higher risk about developing serious health problems than with birth control pills alone. Consult you're doctor or physician for more information. this drug must not be used during pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your pharmacist immediately. this drug passes in to breast milk & has had undesirable effects on nursing infants. Consult your doctor before breast- feeding.

    Yasmin 28 drug interactions: Tell your doctor of every prescription & nonprescription tablet you may use, especially: ACE inhibitors (e.g., enalapril, lisinopril), angiotensin receptor blockers (e.g., losartan, valsartan), potassium-sparing 'water pills' (e.g., spironolactone, triamterene), potassium supplements, heparin, NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, naproxen), atorvastatin, cyclosporine, corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone, prednisolone) theophylline, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), acetaminophen, morphine, temazepam, clofibric acid. Tell your doctor if you take certain drugs that may decrease the effectiveness of it medication, such as: antibiotics (e.g., tetracyclines, penicillins, cephalosporins), griseofulvin, rifampin, certain anti-seizure drugs (e.g., carbamazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin), St John's wort, phenylbutazone. this product can affect result about certain lab tests (e.g., liver function tests, blood tests). Make sure laboratory personnel & your pharmacists know you use it drug. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.

    Yasmin 28 Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea & vomiting.

    Yasmin 28 special notes: do not share it medication with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g., potassium levels, breast exams, pelvic exams) may be performed to monitor for potential side effects to this med. manufacturer's fact sheet about this medication should be dispensed with each prescription. Read the information carefully; if any of information is unclear, consult you're pharmacist or healthcare professional.

    If you missed Yasmin 28 dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. If It's near the time of following dose, take the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule; this may mean taking 2 pills in one day. If you miss 2 or more doses in row, use an alternate birth control method (e.g., condoms, spermicides) for at least 7 days & consult the product information or your pharmacist for new dosing schedule.

    Yasmin 28 Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 & 30 degrees C) away from light & moisture.
