Robitussin Usage: Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant used to relieve a dry, hacking cough.
How to use Robitussin: Take it drug by mouth as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take it more often than directed.
Robitussin side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, or stomach ache may occur the first few days as you're body adjusts to pill. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify youre physician if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, nervousness, confusion. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Robitussin Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: lung problems (e.g., asthma, emphysema), allergies (especially pill allergies). this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with you're doctor. since small amounts of it medication are found in breast milk, consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Robitussin medication interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you use, especially of: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or doctor approval.
Robitussin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Robitussin special notes: If the cough worsens, last for longer than one week or is accompanied by high fever, notify your physician.
If you missed Robitussin dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take this if it is near the time for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Robitussin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 & 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
