Folvite Usage: Folic acid is a vitamin needed by the body to help make blood cells. Folic acid is used in the treatment about anemia (low blood cell count) due to various causes.
How to use Folvite: this pill is given by injection usually one time a day. don't increase your dose, use this more many times or stop taking this with-out 1st consulting your pharmacist.
Folvite side effects: this medication is generally well tolerated. Notify your doctor if you experience any of next while using this medication: breathing trouble, skin rash, itching. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or physician.
Folvite Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: blood disorders, allergies. preservative (benzyl alcohol) which may be found in this product or in liquid used to mix this product (diluent) can infrequently cause serious problems (sometimes death) if given by injection to an infant during first months of life (neonatal period). the risk is greater with lower birth weight infants and is greater with increased amounts of benzyl alcohol. Symptoms include sudden gasping, LBP, or a very slow heartbeat. Report these symptoms to doctor immediately should they occur. If possible, preservative-free product should be used when treating neonates. this med should be used as directed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. body requires twice as many folic acid during pregnancy & while breast-feeding. Consult your physician about it is use.
Folvite medication interactions: Tell your pharmacist about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: phenytoin, sulfa antibiotics, methotrexate. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Folvite Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Folvite special notes: Folic acid is commonly found at asparagus, beets, broccoli, spinach, liver, beans, peas, lentils, oranges & whole wheat products.
If you missed Folvite dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use this if It's near time since the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Folvite Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light, unless otherwise specified. don't store in the bathroom.
