Nascobal Usage: this medication is used to treat vitamin B12 shortage. this product shouldnot be used to test vitamin B12 absorption (Schilling test).
How to use Nascobal: this drug is usually used one time week in the nose or as directed by your doctor. Use this medicine at least one hour before or after hot food or drink. Learn the proper way to use this from your pharmacist or doctor & follow all instructions carefully. Certain conditions may require lifelong use about this drug. Treatment is usually postponed when nasal congestion, common cold or allergies are present.
Nascobal side effects: Headache, nausea, dizziness or nasal congestion may occur. If these persist or worsen, notify you're pharmacist. Though very unlikely to occur, notify you're physician if you develop any about following: muscle cramps or weakness, leg or arm swelling or pain, tingling of the hands or feet. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek healthcare professional attention immediately. Symptoms include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Nascobal Precautions: Before using this drug, tell your healthcare professional youre medical history, including: Leber's disease (an eye problem), allergies (especially drug or food allergies). do not use folic acid in place of vitamin B12 treatments. Limit alcohol use as this may affect level of vitamin B12 in youre body. it medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor.
Nascobal drug interactions: Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription med you may use, especially of: colchicine, para-aminosalicylic acid. Also report the use of drugs that can affect blood cell production such as: anti-cancer drugs, chloramphenicol, zidovudine, ganciclovir. Methotrexate, pyrimethamine & certain antibiotics may interfere with folic acid and vitamin B12 blood test results. don't start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Nascobal Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Nascobal special notes: do not share this medication with others. Laboratory tests will be run to monitor effects about tablet. Keep all laboratory & physician appointments.
If you missed Nascobal dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. If It's near time about the next dose, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Nascobal Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light & moisture. don't freeze.
