Tazorac Usage: this drug is used to treat psoriasis or acne.
How to use Tazorac: for external use only. Clean and dry the affected area of skin & apply a thin layer one time daily in evening. Follow doctor's instructions exactly as stated on prescription label. don't use more than directed and don't apply to unaffected skin, eyes/eyelids or in the mouth. do not cover treated region with dressings or bandages. If contact with eyes occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. Wash hands after using unless you treating hand problem. Psoriasis conditions will usually improve within one to 4 weeks but redness may take longer to improve. in acne conditions it medication is generally used for up to 12 weeks or as directed.
Tazorac side effects: Generally, possible skin side effects are mild to moderate. Itching, burning/stinging, redness, irritation, swelling, dryness or skin pain may occur. If these persist or worsen, notify your physician promptly. Notify your physician promptly if any of the following effects occur: worsening of the original skin problem, skin rash or skin cracking, discoloration or bleeding of skin, severe skin redness/irritation/burning/stinging. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Tazorac Precautions: Before using this drug, tell your physician your medical history, including: allergies (especially drug allergies), other skin conditions (such as eczema, sunburn, sun sensitivity). Protective clothing and sunscreens (minimum SPF 15) are advised during the day. Avoid direct sun exposure as many as possible, & avoid sunlamps completely. this drug can result in sun sensitivity (sunburn-type effect). this medication must not be used during pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your healthcare professional immediately. It's not known if this med is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. women who could become pregnant are advised to use adequate birth control when this medication is used. Consult some your physician.
Tazorac drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional about every prescription and nonprescription drugs you use, especially of another drugs that can cause sun sensitivity such as: thiazide water pills (e.g., hydrochlorothiazide), tetracycline, sulfa antibiotics, quinolone antibiotics (e.g., ciprofloxacin), phenothiazine-type medications (e.g., chlorpromazine). Also report the use of other skin products (or drugs) with strong drying effect or high alcohol content; as well as medicated soaps & vitamin goods. do not start or stop any medicine with-out healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Tazorac Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed. Symptoms of overdose may include increased redness, peeling, & discomfort.
Tazorac special notes: do not share this medication with others.
If you missed Tazorac dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the following dose, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Tazorac Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from sunlight and moisture.
