Aldara Usage: this drug is used for external genital & external anal warts (or condyloma).
How to use Aldara: Wash hands before and after use. Rub thin layer to affected wart area, usually 3 times weekly at bedtime. Use externally only and leave on the skin since 6-10 hours. this drug is packaged in a single use packet and should only be used once. do not use any leftover cream from an opened pouch. do not cover warts with bandages or other closed dressings. After 6-10 hour period, remove the cream by washing the area with mild soap & water. Follow MD instructions exactly & complete youre prescribed treatment which is normally until warts gone or for (usual) maximum of 16 weeks. Learn proper use techniques. don't apply this med inside the vagina.
Aldara side effects: Usually skin reactions that occur mild or moderate. Redness, skin erosion (wearing away), flaking, swelling, itching/burning or scabbing might occur. Pain or difficulty urinating may occur when it drug is applied at opening about vagina. If these effects persist or worsen, notify youre healthcare professional promptly. should a severe skin reaction occur, remove med by washing area with mild soap & water & promptly contact your doctor. Report promptly: flu-type symptoms (e.g., fever, muscle aches), rash. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Aldara Precautions: Before using this drug, tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: allergies (including medication allergies), previous drug or surgical treatment of genital or anal wart area, any skin conditions. Sexual contact must be avoided while med is on skin. this medication may weaken condoms & vaginal diaphragms. Tell your physician if you are pregnant before using this medication. it is not known whether this med is excreted in to people milk. Consult your physician before breast-feeding. Caution is advised using this drug in persons under 18 years of age.
Aldara med interactions: Tell your doctor of every nonprescription and prescription medication you use. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or doctor approval.
Aldara Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed. Symptoms of overdose may include severe flaking, cracking, or swelling of affected area; fainting; weakness; & dizziness.
Aldara special notes: Expect gradual improvement, with some redness occurring. New warts may develop during treatments as it medication isn't cure. do not share this drug with others.
If you missed Aldara dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. If It's near the clock of following dose, skip missed dose and resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Aldara Storage: Store at room temperature below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) away from light & moisture. Avoid freezing.
