Corticosteroids - topical
Betatrex Usage: this medication is used to treat swelling, inflammation, or itching of skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, rashes, insect bites, poison ivy, allergies and other irritations.
How to use Betatrex: Clean and dry affected area before applying medication. To apply, gently massage a small amount of medication into affected area & surrounding skin. don't bandage, wrap or cover the area treated unless you instructed to do so by your physician. don't use plastic pants or tight fitting diapers on children being treated with this pill in diaper area. Avoid using this pill around eyes unless directed to do so by you're physician.
Betatrex side effects: it med may cause burning, stinging, itching, or redness when first applied to the skin. this must disappear in a few days as your body adjusts to drug. this medication may also cause skin thinning and discoloration. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform you're physician. Skin infections can become worse when using it medication. Notify your physician if redness, swelling or irritation does not improve. Very unlikely to occur but report promptly following side effects: unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Betatrex Precautions: do not use this med near the eyes if you have glaucoma. Treatment with clobetasol, halobetasol propionate and augmented betamethasone dipropionate beyond 2 weeks consecutively is not recommended. do not use if there is an infection or sores present on area to be treated. Though very unlikely, it is possible this drug will be absorbed into your bloodstream. this may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. this is especially true for children & for those who have used this for an extended period if they also have serious medical problems such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. it precaution applies for up to one year after stopping use of this drug. Consult your physician or physician for more details. this medication must be used cautiously during pregnancy & only if clearly needed. Discuss the benefits and risks with your doctor. Small amounts of this drug may appear in breast milk. Consult with your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Betatrex drug interactions: Tell you're doctor about all drugs you may use, (both prescription & nonprescription), especially of: prednisone (or similar drugs), other skin medicines. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Betatrex Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. it medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Betatrex special notes: Inform every some your doctors you use (or have used) this drug. do not share this tablet with others.
If you missed Betatrex dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if it is almost time for following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Betatrex Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight. Avoid freezing.
