Corticosteroids - topical
Elocon Usage: this med is used to treat swelling, inflammation, or itching of skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, rashes, insect bites, poison ivy, allergies & other irritations.
How to use Elocon: Clean & dry affected area before applying the medication. To apply, gently massage small amount of the medication in to the affected area & surrounding skin. do not bandage, wrap or cover the area treated unless you are instructed to do so by your physician. don't use plastic pants or tight fitting diapers on children being treated with this med at diaper area. Avoid using this medication around the eyes unless directed to do so by your doctor.
Elocon side effects: this drug may cause burning, stinging, itching, or redness when 1st applied to the skin. it must disappear at some days as your body adjusts to medication. this medication may also cause skin thinning & discoloration. If any about these effects persist or worsen, inform you're doctor. Skin infections can become worse when using this medication. Notify some your physician if redness, swelling or irritation does not improve. Very unlikely to occur but report promptly the following side effects: unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or doctor.
Elocon Precautions: do not use this drug near the eyes if you have glaucoma. Treatment with clobetasol, halobetasol propionate & augmented betamethasone dipropionate beyond two weeks consecutively isnot recommended. do not use if theyre is an infection or sores present on the area to be treated. Though very unlikely, Its possible this drug will be absorbed into your bloodstream. this may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. this is especially true for child & for those who have used this for an extended period if they also have serious medical problems such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. this precaution applies for up to one year after stopping use of it drug. Consult your doctor or doctor for more details. this drug must be used cautiously during pregnancy and only if clearly needed. Discuss benefits and risks with some your doctor. Small amounts of this drug may appear in breast milk. Consult with your doctor before breast-feeding.
Elocon med interactions: Tell you're doctor of every meds you may use, (both prescription and nonprescription), especially of: prednisone (or similar drugs), other skin medicines. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or physician approval.
Elocon Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Elocon special notes: Inform every your doctors you use (or have used) this drug. do not share it medication with others.
If you missed Elocon dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if it is almost time since following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Elocon Storage: Store in room temperature away from sunlight. Avoid freezing.
Medical alert: your condition may cause complications at medical emergency.
