Monobenzone - topical

Benoquin Usage: Monobenzone is used to treat loss of skin color (vitiligo). it works by permanently removing color from normal skin located around skin with vitiligo. do not use this med for other skin color conditions (e.g., freckling, age spots, etc.).
How to use Benoquin: it medication is for use on skin only. Apply a thin layer of the medication two or three times daily to colored skin; or use as directed by you're pharmacist. After using this medication, the skin will be permanently affected & sensitive to sunlight. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, wear protective clothing, or use sunscreens regularly when outdoors. this may take up to four months before full benefit of this drug takes effect. one time desired skin color is achieved, this pill is applied only as needed to maintain your new skin color (usually two times a week).
Benoquin side effects: Dry skin, burning, irritation, redness, cracking or peeling about the skin may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: rash, swelling, skin discoloration of areas not treated with it medication. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Benoquin Precautions: this drug isn't recommended for use if you have the next medical conditions: freckles, increased skin color due to perfumes (berlock dermatitis), melasma of pregnancy, inflammation, skin cancer, age spots or 'liver spots'. Tell youre doctor your medical history, especially about: other skin conditions, allergies. it medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with some your doctor. it is not known whether it drug passes into breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Benoquin drug interactions: Tell your doctor of every prescription & nonprescription medication you may use, especially about: other skin products. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Benoquin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. it medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Benoquin special notes: do not share this medication with others.
If you missed Benoquin dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. If this is near time of next dose, skip the missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.
Benoquin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from light & heat.
