Tagamet Hb Usage: Cimetidine blocks secretion of acid from stomach. Prescription cimetidine is used to treat & prevent ulcers, to treat gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD), & to treat conditions associated with excessive acid secretion (e.g., Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome). Nonprescription cimetidine is used to relieve heartburn and acid indigestion.
Tagamet Hb canbe used also for: this pill may also be used treat skin rashes caused by allergic conditions.
How to use Tagamet Hb: this medication is taken by mouth. Take this as directed. don't increase your dose, take this more often than prescribed or stop taking this with out first consulting you're healthcare professional. If you taking antacids in addition to it medication, stagger the doses so they not taken at the same time. Try to space dosing about it drug & antacids by at least 2 hours.
Tagamet Hb side effects: Headache, fatigue, dizziness, loss of appetite, sleepiness, dry skin or dry mouth may occur as you're body adjusts to drug. Hair loss, increased sweating, anxiety, change in sex drive, breast enlargement in males and change in taste perceptions may also occur. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Tagamet Hb drug interactions: Tell your physician about every drugs you use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially of: antacids, alcohol, heart tablet, blood thinners, anti-anxiety drugs, blood pressure medications, anti-seizure medications, drugs used for diabetes, antidepressants, narcotic pain tablets (e.g., codeine), azole antifungals (e.g., ketoconazole), theophylline. Cigarette smoking can affect this tablet. Tell your doctor if you smoke & if you stop or start smoking while using this med. this medication is available in both prescription & over-the-counter formulations. don't take both at same time. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Tagamet Hb Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include difficulty breathing, fast heartbeat, tremors, vomiting, restlessness, weakness, fatigue, or dizziness.
