Warning: Use of it drug during pregnancy may cause abortion, premature birth, or birth defects. Rupture of the womb (uterus) has occurred in pregnant wonen using misoprostol to start labor, or when using this to cause abortion after the eighth week of pregnancy. Misoprostol shouldn't be taken to reduce risk about ulcers due to aspirin or related drugs (NSAIDs such as ibuprofen) if you are pregnant. this tablet should not be used to reduce the risk of NSAID ulcers if you of childbearing age, unless you are at high risk of having an ulcer, or ulcer complications. If woman must use it, 4 requirements must be met: 1) negative pregnancy test within two weeks before starting use of misoprostol; 2) be able to use effective measures to prevent pregnancy (contraception); 3) receive oral & written warnings on dangers of misoprostol use in wome of childbearing age, and risks of possible birth control failure; 4) begin taking this only on second or third day about next normal menstrual period. it med must not be shared with others.

Misoprostol Usage: it medication is used to prevent ulcers in persons taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs, including aspirin), especially in persons at risk for developing ulcers or those with history of ulcers. this pill is also used in combination with another drug to end pregnancy (abortion).
How to use Misoprostol: this drug is best taken with meals & at bedtime to minimize the incidence of diarrhea. Avoid taking magnesium-containing antacids such as Mylanta or Maalox while on this medication. These types of antacids may increase frequency/severity of diarrhea caused by misoprostol. Read antacid labels carefully to cash for magnesium content. this is important to take it drug exactly as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take more often than prescribed.
Misoprostol side effects: this tablet causes diarrhea that usually stops after 8 days. Nausea, vomiting, stomach pains, gas, indigestion, or headache may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify you're healthcare professional promptly. Tell your physician immediately if these unlikely but serious side effects occur: menstrual irregularities, unusual/heavy vaginal bleeding. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or doctor.
Misoprostol Precautions: Tell some your pharmacist your medical history, especially: stomach/intestinal disorders, prior Cesarean birth or uterine surgery, five or more previous pregnancies, any allergies. Misoprostol must not be used during pregnancy (see Warning section). Use effective birth control while taking it pill for ulcer prevention. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your physician immediately. it isn't known if misoprostol is excreted into breast milk. the manufacturer about this drug advises against breast-feeding while using misoprostol because it may harm a nursing infant.
Misoprostol drug interactions: Tell your physician of every medicines you may use (both prescription & nonprescription) especially: magnesium- containing antacids. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Misoprostol Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include sleepiness, tremors, seizures, difficulty breathing, stomach pain, diarrhea, fever, and slow heart rate.
Misoprostol special notes: don't allow anyone else to take it medication.
If you missed Misoprostol dose: Take any missed dose as soon as possible but not if it is almost clock for the following dose. If It's time for next dose, skip the missed dose & resume your regular schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Misoprostol Storage: Store in room temperature & keep away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in the bathroom.
