Zantac Usage: this tablet blocks acid in stomach. it is used to treat and prevent ulcers, to treat gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD) & to treat conditions due to high acid secretion.
How to use Zantac: this medication is given as an injection in to a muscle (IM) or infused into vein (IV) if one is unable to take oral medication. Premixed bags are for IV use only. Use this as prescribed. do not increase you're dose, use this more often than directed or stop using this without first consulting some your doctor.
Zantac side effects: Headache, stomach upset or irritation or itching at the injection site may occur. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Notify you're doctor if you develop: skin rash, rapid heart rate, swelling about the face, breathing trouble, unusual weakness, vision changes. Notify your healthcare professional immediately if you notice: black tarry stools, coffee ground-like vomit (may indicate bleeding). If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Zantac Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional if you have: liver problems, kidney disease, heart rhythm disorders, allergies (especially drug allergies). this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your physician. since small amounts of this pill are found at breast milk, consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Zantac drug interactions: Tell your doctor about all over-the-counter and prescription medication you may use, especially about: antacids, anti-anxiety tablet, procainamide, theophylline, blood thinners, oral drug for diabetes, ketoconazole, itraconazole, triazolam. this medication is available in both prescription and over-the-counter formulations. do not use both in same time. do not start or stop any medicine with-out doctor or doctor approval.
Zantac Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include difficulty breathing, fast heartbeat, tremors, vomiting, restlessness, weakness, fatigue, or dizziness.

Zantac Storage: the U.S. manufacturer recommends storing their vial between 39-77 degrees F (4-25 degrees C) away from heat & light. Brief storage up to 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) is permitted. Premixed IV bags may be refrigerated or stored between 36-77 degrees F (2-25 degrees C). the Canadian manufacturer recommends storing their vial between 36-77 degrees F (2-25 degrees C) away from heat and light.
