Zantac Usage: it drug reduces amount about acid in you're stomach. it is used to treat & prevent ulcers, to treat gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD), & to treat conditions associated with excessive acid secretion.
How to use Zantac: it medication is best taken with or immediately after meals. Antacids & sucralfate can block the effect of this medication. If you are taking an antacid at addition to this drug, separate the doses of each drug by at least one half hour. If you are taking sucralfate in addition to this drug, take ranitidine two hours before the sucralfate. do not stop taking it drug without some your doctor's approval. Stopping therapy too soon may delay healing of ulcer.
Zantac side effects: Nausea, diarrhea, headache, or dizziness may occur in first as your body adjusts to the drug. If these effects persist or become bothersome, inform your physician. Notify your doctor if you experience: unusual bleeding or bruising, pounding chest pain, rash, difficulty sleeping, mental changes, extreme weakness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Zantac Precautions: Before using it drug, tell your physician or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: heartburn combined with lightheadedness or sweating or dizziness, chest pain or shoulder/jaw pain especially with shortness of breath, pain spreading to arms or neck or shoulders, unexplained weight loss, liver or kidney problems, tobacco use (smoking), other stomach problems (e.g., tumors), any allergies (including medication allergies). women who pregnant or breast-feeding must inform their doctors before taking this medication.
Zantac med interactions: Tell your pharmacist of all over-the-counter & prescription medication you may use, especially of: ketoconazole, itraconazole, triazolam. this drug is available in both prescription and over-the-counter formulations. do not take both at same time. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or physician approval.
Zantac Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include difficulty breathing, quick heartbeat, tremors, vomiting, restlessness, weakness, fatigue, or dizziness.
Zantac special notes: your physician may recommend few lifestyle changes such as stress-reducing programs, diet changes & exercise to assist in the treatment & prevention of ulcers. Ranitidine may affect results of tests for urine protein. Be sure to tell you're doctor you are taking ranitidine.
If you missed Zantac dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Zantac Storage: Store between 36 and 77 degrees F (between 2 and 25 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. don't store in the bathroom.
