Diovan Hct Usage: it drug is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). this drug is combination about two meds (an angiotensin receptor blocker and a thiazide 'water pill'/diuretic). Valsartan blocks hormone angiotensin thereby relaxing blood vessels, causing them to widen. thiazide diuretic increases the amount of urine you make, therefore decreasing excess water and salt in your body. high blood pressure reduction helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, & kidney problems.

Diovan Hct can be used also for: this drug may also be used to treat heart failure and to help protect the kidneys from damage due to diabetes.

How to use Diovan Hct: Take this medication by mouth, usually once daily or as directed by your physician. You may take this drug with or with out food. Use this tablet regularly in order to get most benefit from it. To help you remember, use it at same clock each day. Drink adequate fluids to prevent from becoming dehydrated. If you are on restricted fluid intake, consult you're doctor since further instructions. don't take potassium supplements or salt substitutes containing potassium with out talking to your physician or physician 1st. it medicine can infrequently raise or lower your potassium blood levels, which rarely can cause serious side effects such as muscle weakness/cramping or very slow heartbeats. Diovan Hct side effects: You may experience dizziness, lightheadedness, blurred vision, or tiredness as your body adjusts to medication. You may also experience diarrhea, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, or cough. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your healthcare professional or pharmacist promptly. Tell your healthcare professional immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: unusual thirst, weakness, confusion, fainting, fast heartbeat, decreased sexual ability. Tell your pharmacist immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: unusual change at the amount of urine (after first several days of starting this drug), signs of infection (e.g., fever, chills, persistent sore throat), seizures, chest pain, yellowing eyes or skin, stomach/abdominal pain, dark urine, unusual fatigue. An allergic reaction to it tablet is unlikely, but seek immediate healthcare attention if it occurs. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling (especially of face, lips, tongue, or throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or pharmacist.

Diovan Hct Precautions: it drug should not be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult some your physician or healthcare professional if you have: urinary problems (inability to make urine or anuria). Use a sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors. Caution is advised when using this drug in elderly because they may be more sensitive to effects of medication, especially the dizziness effect. this drug should be used only when clearly needed during 1-st three months of pregnancy. it isn't recommended for use during the last 6 months of pregnancy due to risk for fetal harm. Diovan Hct pill interactions: this drug shouldn't be used with next medications because very serious interactions may occur: cisapride, dofetilide. Diovan Hct Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include unusually quick or slow heartbeat, severe dizziness or fainting.

If you missed Diovan Hct dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. If It's near time of the following dose, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't double the dose to catch up.

Diovan Hct Storage: Store in room temperature (77 degrees F or 25 degrees C) away from light & moisture. Brief storage between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) is permitted. don't store in bathroom. Keep every medicines away from children & pets.
