Bumex Usage: Bumetanide is 'water pill' (diuretic). it decreases the amount of water retained in body by increasing urination. it is used to treat fluid retention in lungs or swelling of the hands or feet (edema) or high blood pressure (hypertension).
How to use Bumex: Take with food or milk to reduce stomach upset. If this drug is used in the late afternoon or evening, you may need to urinate during night. Consult your doctor regarding youre dosing schedule.
Bumex side effects: Headache & nausea infrequently might occur. If these persist or worsen, notify your physician. Unlikely but report promptly: muscle cramps or weakness, dizziness, one-sided weakness (arms & legs), unusual fatigue, unusual thirst. Very unlikely but report promptly: fainting episodes, chest pain, hearing problems, unusual bleeding or bruising, yellowing of eyes or skin. To prevent low potassium and other mineral deficiencies, this drug is frequently given with certain water pills (potassium-sparing) or mineral supplements/food recommendations. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to it drug, seek doctor attention immediately. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or doctor.
Bumex Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: kidney problems, unusual decrease in urine output, liver disease, tablet allergies. this drug can reduce potassium levels in youre blood. a potassium supplement may be prescribed by your healthcare professional. this drug must be used during pregnancy only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your physician. It's not known if this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult you're healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Bumex medication interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of all nonprescription & prescription drug you use, especially about: another diuretics, (e.g., furosemide), digoxin, corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), corticotropin, amphotericin B, lithium, ginseng, blood pressure medications, indomethacin (and other NSAIDs such as aspirin & ibuprofen), probenecid, drugs causing ear or kidney problems (e.g., aminoglycosides such as gentamicin; or cisplatin). do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Bumex Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include dry mouth, dizziness, excessive urination followed by decrease in amount of urine, muscle cramps, weakness, and weak or irregular heartbeat.
Bumex special notes: do not share this medication with others.
If you missed Bumex dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; don't take if It's almost time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Bumex Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 - 86 degrees F (15 - 30 degrees C) away from moisture & light. do not store in bathroom.
