Bumetanide Usage: Bumetanide is a diuretic that decreases amount of water retained in the body by increasing urination. Bumetanide is used to treat edema (fluid retention & swelling especially of hands, feet & lungs caused by heart failure or kidney, liver and other diseases).
Bumetanide can be used also for: it pill may also be used for high blood pressure or to aid in clearing toxic pills from body.
How to use Bumetanide: this medication is given by injection into muscle (IM) or by vein (IV) at persons unable to use oral drug. Use this drug exactly as directed, along with all other prescribed medications and diets. do not increase you're dose, use this more often than prescribed or stop using this drug without consulting your healthcare professional. the dosage is adjusted according to your response & condition being treated. product should be checked since particles or discoloration before use.
Bumetanide side effects: Headache & nausea infrequently might occur. If these persist or worsen, notify your pharmacist. Unlikely but report promptly: muscle cramps or weakness, dizziness, difficulty breathing, one-sided weakness (arms & legs), unusual fatigue, unusual thirst. Very unlikely but report promptly: fainting chapter, chest pain, hearing problems, unusual bleeding or bruising, yellowing of eyes or skin. To prevent low potassium & other mineral deficiencies, it drug is frequently given with mineral supplements, food recommendations or certain water tablets (potassium-sparing). at unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or doctor.
Bumetanide Precautions: Before using this med, tell your doctor your medical history, including: any allergies (especially drug allergies), liver or kidney disease, blood disorders, hearing problems. Dizziness on standing may occur. To avoid dizziness or lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also, limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. a preservative (benzyl alcohol) which may be found in this product or in the liquid used to mix it product (diluent) can infrequently cause serious problems (sometimes death) if given by injection to an infant during the 1'st months of life (neonatal period). risk is greater with lower birth weight infants and is greater with increased amounts of benzyl alcohol. Symptoms include sudden gasping, low blood pressure, or very slow heartbeat. Report these symptoms to doctor immediately should they occur. If possible, preservative-free product should be used when treating neonates. it med should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. this isn't known whether it drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult some your healthcare professional before breast-feeding. Caution is advised when this drug is used in elderly.
Bumetanide med interactions: Tell youre doctor of every nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially of: other diuretics, (e.g., furosemide), digoxin, corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), corticotropin, amphotericin B, lithium, ginseng, blood pressure tablets, indomethacin (and other NSAIDs such as aspirin & ibuprofen), probenecid, drugs that cause ear or kidney problems (e.g., aminoglycosides such as gentamicin, or cisplatin). don't start or stop any medicine with-out physician or doctor approval.
Bumetanide Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include dry mouth, dizziness, excessive urination followed by a decrease in amount of urine, muscle cramps, weakness, and weak or irregular heartbeat.
Bumetanide special notes: don't share this medication with others. Laboratory tests will be performed to monitor use about this pill.
If you missed Bumetanide dose: If you miss a dose, consult your doctor or pharmacist to establish a new dosing schedule promptly.
Bumetanide Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light & moisture.
