Hytrin Usage: Terazosin relaxes & opens blood vessels. it is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). in males, it is used since symptoms of prostate enlargement such as urinary hesitancy and/or urgency.

How to use Hytrin: Take it medication exactly as prescribed. Try to take this at the same time each day. Take the 1st dose at bedtime to minimize chances of gettin dizzy or fainting. Capsules may be taken with food or milk to avoid stomach upset. It's important to continue taking this medication even if you feel well. most person with high blood pressure do not feel sick. don't stop taking this drug with out consulting your doctor. some conditions may become worse when drug is abruptly stopped. your dose may need to be gradually decreased.

Hytrin side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, constipation, loss of appetite, fatigue, nasal congestion or dry eyes may occur 1st several days as youre body adjusts to the drug. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify some your physician promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if you have any of these unlikely but serious side effects: chest pain, swelling of hands or feet, ringing in the ears. Males - though It's unlikely to occur, if you get a painful, prolonged erection, stop using this medication and seek immediate medical attention. Tell your physician immediately if you have any about these highly unlikely but serious side effects: decreased sexual ability, simple bleeding or bruising, irregular or unusually quick heartbeat. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate healthcare attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're doctor or pharmacist.

Hytrin Precautions: Before taking this medication, tell youre healthcare professional if you have liver or kidney disease. To avoid dizziness or fainting, get up slowly from lying or seated position; especially when you 1st start using this drug or if youre doctor changes youre dosing. Limit your intake of alcohol & avoid getting overheated because they may increase the dizziness & drowsiness effects about this tablet. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. this tablet must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Consult with your doctor before breast-feeding.

Hytrin drug interactions: Inform youre physician about all the medicines you use (both prescription & nonprescription). Avoid any medications that increase you're heart rate or make you excited like decongestants because it may counteract your blood pressure medicine. Decongestants are commonly found in over-the-counter cough & cold products. do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or pharmacist approval.

Hytrin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness & weakness.

Hytrin special notes: it is important to have your blood pressure checked regularly while taking this pill. Learn how to monitor your blood pressure. Discuss this with youre pharmacist or pharmacist.

If you missed Hytrin dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; don't take if Its almost time for the following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up. Contact your doctor if 2 or more consecutive doses are missed.

Hytrin Storage: Store at room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 to 25 degrees C) away from heat and moisture. Capsules stored at higher than recommended temperatures may soften or melt.
