    Acetic acid w/hydrocortisone - otic

    (uh-seet-ick acid with hi-dro-kor-tih-sown)

    Acetasol HC Usage: Acetic acid has antibacterial and antifungal action. Hydrocortisone reduces swelling & relieves pain & itching. this medication is used to treat certain infections of the outer ear and ear canal.

    How to use Acetasol HC: for best effects, this medication must be used as directed. Continue using it for the full clock prescribed. Stopping this tablet too soon may not clear infection & could possibly result in reinfection. do not use this medication more often or continue to use it for longer than directed. Apply ear drops to affected ears as follows: Wash hands first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch dropper or let it touch your ear. If med has been refrigerated, hold the bottle in your hand for a several minutes to warm it. If the drops suspension (not solution), shake well for 10 seconds before using. Lie on your side or tilt affected ear up. Place dropper directly over the ear and administer prescribed number about drops. To help drops roll into the ear, in adults, hold the earlobe up & back & in children, hold earlobe down & back. Keep head tilted since of two minutes or insert a soft cotton plug if directed to do so. do not rinse dropper. it pill may be administered using an ear wick. med is applied to the ear wick which is then gently inserted into the ear as directed. Remove wick & instill the prescribed number of drops (usually 5) 3 to four times day as prescribed.

    Acetasol HC side effects: it drug may temporarily sting or burn youre ear for minute or two when 1-st applied. If this continues or becomes bothersome, inform youre physician. Notify some your healthcare professional immediately if you develop: skin rash, itching/burning/redness/swelling or pain in or around ears. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

    Acetasol HC Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional if you have: other infections, allergies. it medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss the risks & benefits with your physician.

    Acetasol HC pill interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take, especially: other ear drops. do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or pharmacist approval.

    Acetasol HC Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

    Acetasol HC special notes: If the condition for which this was prescribed does not improve or becomes worse after few days, consult you're pharmacist.

    If you missed Acetasol HC dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use it if It's near time for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

    Acetasol HC Storage: Store at controlled room temperature between 68 to 77 degrees F (20-25 C) away from heat & light. Discard this if the solution turns brown, cloudy or contains particles.
