Indapamide Usage: Indapamide is 'water pill' (diuretic) used to treat excess body water (edema) & high blood pressure. it works by decreasing amount of water in the body by increasing urination.
How to use Indapamide: Because it med increases urination, it is best taken early in the day. this mediation may be taken with food or milk to reduce stomach upset. this medication may reduce potassium levels in your blood. this is advisable to eat foods or drink liquids high in potassium such as citrus juices, bananas, tomatoes, melons, and raisins to help prevent low potassium. Salt substitutes contain potassium and may be beneficial. sometimes potassium supplement medication will be prescribed by your physician.
Indapamide side effects: it drug may cause dizziness or lightheadedness especially during the 1'st few days as your body adjusts to it. Rise slowly from seated or lying position to minimize dizziness. Blurred vision, loss about appetite, stomach upset, headache & weakness may also occur. Inform some your healthcare professional if any of these effects persist or worsen. Inform you doctor if your develop any about the following symptoms (possible signs of low potassium levels): muscle cramps, pain, nausea, vomiting. in the unlikely series an allergic reaction to this medication occurs, seek immeditial medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Indapamide Precautions: Before you take indapamide, tell your pharmacist your medical history, especially: heart rhythm problems, vitamin/ mineral (electrolyte) imbalances, diabetes, gout, kidney, thyroid or parathyroid problems, liver disease, urinary problems, SLE (systemic lupus erythematosus), any allergies (especially drug allergies). Before using indapamide, tell your healthcare professional if you are pregnant. Its not known if indapamide is excreted into breast milk. Though there have been no reports (to date) of harm to nursing infants, consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Indapamide med interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of every medicines you may use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially: lithium, cisapride, digoxin, another drugs used for blood pressure, cholestyramine/colestipol, diazoxide, diabetes medication. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Indapamide Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, and weakness.
Indapamide special notes: don't allow anyone else to take it drug.
If you missed Indapamide dose: Take any missed dose as soon as possible but not if it is almost time for the next dose. If It's clock for the next dose, skip missed dose and resume your regular schedule. don't 'double up' the dose.
Indapamide Storage: Store at room temperature & keep away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in the bathroom.
