Warning: this medication must not be used during pregnancy because birth defects may occur. Megestrol has not been proven to prevent miscarriages that occur early in pregnancy. many times, the cause of an early miscarriage is due to a defective female egg. Using it tablet does not fix defective egg & may get in way of expelling it.

Megace Usage: Megestrol suspension is used to stimulate appetite since weight gain. it may also be used for another reasons as determined by your physician.

How to use Megace: Shake well before each dose & take exactly as prescribed by your healthcare professional.

Megace side effects: this medication may cause diarrhea, impotence, rash, flatulence (gas), weight gain, increased thirst, & increased appetite. If any adverse effects persist or worsen, inform your healthcare professional. Though less likely to occur, notify your physician if you experience any about following: abdominal pain, chest pain, irregular heartbeat, constipation, dry mouth or increased salivation, liver problems, oral lesions, weakness, water retention, mood changes, breathing problems, hair loss, itching, vision problems, increased urination, blood clots. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your doctor or physician.

Megace Precautions: Tell your doctor youre medical history, especially of: liver disease, stomach or abdominal problems, depression, incomplete abortion, unusual vaginal bleeding, suspected pregnancy, blood clotting problems, diabetes, any allergies. this drug may decrease adrenal gland activity. Therefore, tell your doctors or dentists of youre megestrol use or when you stopped using it. After stopping this drug, additional corticosteroids (e.g., hydrocortisone) may be necessary during stress situations such as trauma, major surgery or serious infection. Consult your doctor or doctor for details. Symptoms of adrenal problems include unusual weakness, fever, dizziness, nausea & rapid weight loss. Contraceptive (birth control) measures recommended while using this drug. Megestrol suspension must not be used during pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform some your doctor immediately. Megestrol may be excreted into breast milk. Because of the potential of harm to infant, nursing should be stopped while using this drug.

If you missed Megace dose: Take any missed dose as soon as possible but not if it is almost time since following dose. If It's time for next dose, skip the missed dose & resume youre regular schedule. do not double-up dose to catch up.

Megace Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 77 degrees F (15 to 25 degrees C) & keep away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in bathroom; keep out of the reach of children.
