    Estradiol biweekly - transdermal

    Warning: Estrogens have been reported to increase chance of womb (endometrial) cancer in women who have been through menopause, especially in women with a uterus who receive estrogen-only hormone therapy. Estrogens may also increase the risk of cancer of ovary or breast. Estrogen-containing goods shouldn't be used to prevent heart disease. Estrogen given at combination with another hormone (progestin) for replacement therapy can infrequently cause heart disease (e.g., heart attacks), stroke, serious blood clots (pulmonary embolism & deep venous thrombosis), dementia, and cancer of breast. These risks appear to depend on the length about time this drug is used & the amount of estrogen per dose. Therefore, it drug should be used since shortest possible length of clock in lowest effective dose, so you obtain benefits and minimize the chance about serious side effects from long-term treatment. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for details. If you use this med for an extended period, you should be evaluated at least once year. watch Notes section. this pill isn't effective in preventing or treating tendency toward miscarriages (natural habitual abortion) nor threat about miscarriage. it tablet must not be used during pregnancy because it is use may result in birth defects or cancer later in the child's life. look Precautions section.

    Alora Usage: this pill is female hormone and is usually given to women who no longer produce proper amount. this is used to reduce menopause symptoms (e.g., hot flashes, vaginal dryness), to prevent bone loss (osteoporosis) in people at high risk, & to treat other conditions as determined by your physician. If you are only being treated for vaginal menopause symptoms, goods applied locally such as vaginal creams, tablets, or rings should be considered before products taken by mouth or absorbed through skin. theyre are few medications (e.g., raloxifene or bisphosphonates) that are safe & effective to prevent or treat bone loss. These medicines should be considered for use before estrogen therapy. If you have other medical conditions as well, & are prescribed estrogens for more than one condition, consult your physician of your treatment plan & it is options.

    How to use Alora: Use it medication exactly as prescribed. patch is usually replaced twice week (about every 3 to four days), or as directed by some your physician. Follow the dosing schedule carefully. do not open sealed pouch container until ready to use. Open the pouch and remove the patch from protective liner. Apply patch to a clean, dry, hairless area as directed by your physician or by patient information leaflet. this patch should only be applied to certain areas about body. Different brands of patches applied to different areas of the body. If you have any questions about where to apply patch, ask your physician or pharmacist. Press the patch firmly against the skin for about 10 seconds to make sure patch stays on. do not apply to site that is exposed to sunlight & do not place the patch on breast. Avoid applying to waistline since tight clothing may rub the patch off. don't put patch on areas where sitting may loosen it. When it is time to change the patch, remove this & dispose of it properly. Apply a new patch to a different area to prevent skin irritation. It's best to rotate areas where patch is applied, allowing at least 1 week at between applications to same site. If area around patch becomes red, itchy, or irritated, try new site. If the irritation continues or becomes worse, notify your physician promptly. If patch falls off, reapply it or apply new patch & wear this for rest of the scheduled period. Read Patient information Leaflet available from your pharmacist. Consult your physician or pharmacist if you have any questions.

    Alora side effects: Dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, stomach upset, bloating, nausea, weight changes, increased/decreased interest in sex, breast tenderness, or skin redness/irritation in the application site may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Tell your pharmacist immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: mental/mood changes (e.g., severe depression, memory loss), calf pain/swelling, sudden severe headache, chest pain, trouble breathing, one-sided weakness, slurred speech, vision changes (e.g., change in contact lens fit, loss of vision), breast lumps, swelling of hands or feet, changes in vaginal bleeding (e.g., spotting, breakthrough bleeding or prolonged bleeding), unusual vaginal discharge/itching/odor, yellowing about eyes or skin. An allergic reaction to this pill is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if this occurs. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or physician.

    Alora Precautions: this drug must not be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult some your pharmacist or physician if you have: undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding, certain cancers (e.g., breast cancer, especially non-metastatic type), blood clots, active/recent stroke or heart attack, liver disease. Before using it medication, tell your pharmacist or healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: family medical history (especially breast lumps and cancer), asthma, diabetes, seizures, migraine headaches, heart disease (e.g., HBP, heart attacks, congestive heart failure), kidney disease, low thyroid hormone (hypothyroidism), abnormal calcium level in blood, depression, high blood pressure during pregnancy (toxemia), yellowing of eyes and skin (cholestatic jaundice) during pregnancy or with past estrogen use, womb problems (e.g., uterine fibroids, endometriosis), cholesterol or lipid problems, gallbladder disease, excessive weight gain, certain blood disorder (porphyria), any allergies. If you will be having surgery or will be confined to chair or bed for long period of clock (e.g., long plane flight), notify your healthcare professional beforehand. Special precautions may need to be taken in these circumstances while you are taking it drug. this medication may make you dizzy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. it drug may cause a patchy darkening of skin on the face (melasma). Sunlight may intensify it darkening & you may need to avoid prolonged sun exposure & sunlamps. Consult your healthcare professional regarding use of sunscreens & protective clothing. Cigarette smoking can increase the chance of blood clots while taking this drug (especially in girl over the age of 35). If it medicine is used in kid, they're growth pattern should be monitored as this drug might stunt their growth. this medication must not be used during pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your healthcare professional immediately. this med may pass into breast milk & may have undesirable effects on nursing infant. Therefore, breast-feeding while using it drug is not recommended.

    Alora med interactions: Before using it drug, tell your doctor or physician of every prescription and nonprescription products you may use, especially of: corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), hydantoins (e.g., phenytoin), warfarin. Also tell youre doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any meds which affect certain liver enzymes (CYP450-3A4 enzymes), such as: azole antifungals (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole), carbamazepine, cimetidine, macrolide antibiotics (e.g., clarithromycin, erythromycin), phenobarbital, rifamycins (e.g., rifampin), ritonavir, St. John's wort. this product can affect results about certain lab tests. Make sure laboratory personnel & your doctors know you use this drug. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

    Alora Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe nausea/vomiting or excessive vaginal bleeding.

    Alora special notes: don't share this medication with others. Keep all appointments with your pharmacist and the laboratory. You must have a complete physical examination, including blood pressure measurements, breast and pelvic examination, & a PAP test (for vaginal cancer), at least once a year. You should also have periodic mammograms as determined by your physician. Follow your doctor's instructions for examining your own breasts, & report any lumps immediately. Non-drug therapy to help prevent bone loss includes weight-bearing exercise plan, adequate daily calcium and vitamin D. Consult your healthcare professional or pharmacist for more details.

    If you missed Alora dose: If you miss dose, use this as soon as you remember. If patch falls off, reapply it or apply new patch & wear this for the rest of the scheduled period, then resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.

    Alora Storage: Store the sealed pouches according to package instructions away from light and moisture. don't store at the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
