Cogentin Usage: this medication is used to treat symptoms of Parkinson's disease and similar drug-induced side effects.
How to use Cogentin: this medication must be administered as directed by youre doctor. Use this tablet as directed. this may take a few weeks or months before full benefits of this drug are observed. do not stop using it medication with-out your doctor's approval. Suddenly stopping medication can rarely lead to worsening of symptoms.
Cogentin side effects: can cause drowsiness, dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, stomach upset, vision changes, sleeplessness or trembling of hands. These effects must subside as your body adjusts to med. If they persist or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. may cause dizziness especially when rising quickly from seated or lying position. Change positions slowly & be careful on stairs. May decrease your sweating ability making you more prone to heat stroke. Use caution during exercise & hot weather. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: vomiting, difficulty swallowing, difficulty urinating, uncontrollable movements, chest pain, rapid heart rate, skin rash, mood or mental changes. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Cogentin Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: glaucoma, irregular heartbeat, urination problems, allergies (especially drug allergies). Alcohol can aggravate drowsiness. Limit alcohol use. it drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Discuss the risks & benefits with you're doctor. Because this medication appears at breast milk, consult with your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Cogentin drug interactions: Inform your doctor about every medicine you use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially if you take other medicines that make you sleepy or give you dry mouth such as: tranquilizers (e.g., phenothiazines such as chlorpromazine), amantadine, digoxin. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Cogentin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include: dilated pupils, hot/dry/flushed skin, quick heartbeat, fast breathing.
Cogentin special notes: do not share this product with others.
If you missed Cogentin dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if It's almost time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Cogentin Storage: Store in room temperature away from sunlight.
