Levodopa with carbidopa - oral sustained release

Sinemet Cr Usage: this medication is used to treat symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Carbidopa is used to make levodopa more effective. Carbidopa has no effect when given alone.
How to use Sinemet Cr: Take this med as directed. it may take a few weeks before full benefits of this pill are observed. If you are changing from plain levodopa to it drug, levodopa must be discontinued for 8 hours before taking this combination tablet. If stomach upset occurs, this drug may be taken with food or milk. Consult with your healthcare professional. don't crush or chew tablets. the 50/200mg strength tablets may be broken in half. don't break the 25/100mg strength meds in half; doing so will change the drug's release system & may increase possiblity of side effects.
Sinemet Cr side effects: can cause drowsiness, dizziness, headache, loss about appetite, stomach upset, nausea, vision changes, or trembling of the hands. These should subside as your body adjusts to med. If these symptoms persist or become bothersome, inform you're physician. Notify your doctor if you develop any of these serious effects while taking this medication: vomiting, difficulty swallowing, difficulty urinating, uncontrollable movements (especially twitching about eyelid), chest pain, irregular heartbeat, skin rash, mental/mood changes. may cause darkening of the urine or sweat. this is not harmful & will disappear when med is stopped. can cause dizziness especially when rising quickly from seated or lying position. Change positions slowly & be careful on stairs. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Sinemet Cr Precautions: this pill can cause false results in urine glucose testing in diabetes. TesTape should be used to test urine for accurate results. Tell youre healthcare professional your medical history, especially about: glaucoma, skin cancer, breathing problems, heart disease, gland problems e. g., diabetes, thyroid), kidney or liver disease, ulcers, depression, blood disorders. this drug must be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Discuss risks & benefits with youre physician. Levodopa appears in breast milk. do not take this drug if you breast-feeding.
Sinemet Cr pill interactions: Tell your doctor of every the pills you may use, (both prescription and nonprescription), especially of: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), drugs used for depression or anxiety, iron vitamins, phenytoin, blood pressure meds, pyridoxine, any other drugs used for Parkinson's disease. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Sinemet Cr Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include irregular heartbeat & muscle spasms.
Sinemet Cr special notes: Be sure your doctor knows your complete medical history & the medications you taking.
If you missed Sinemet Cr dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered & take any remaining dose for that day in evenly spaced intervals. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Sinemet Cr Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight & moisture. don't store in the bathroom.
