Imodium D Usage: it drug is used to treat diarrhea or to reduce the amount of discharge in patients who have undergone an ileostomy.
How to use Imodium D: Take this drug by mouth exactly as directed. don't increase your dose or take this longer than two days with-out your doctor's approval. Notify your doctor if diarrhea does not stop after two days. While taking this medication, drink plenty of clear liquids to replace fluid loss from diarrhea and prevent dehydration.
Imodium D side effects: Stomach ache, nausea, vomiting, bloating, dry mouth, constipation, drowsiness, or dizziness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, contact youre physician promptly. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. Tell youre physician immediately if you have this unlikely but serious side effect: stomach pain. An allergic reaction to this pill is unlikely, but seek immediate doctor attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or physician.
Imodium D Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: recently taken antibiotics, any allergies. this med may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcohol intake because this can intensify dizziness or drowsiness effects of it med. Use it medication cautiously in kid. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your doctor. it is not known if this drug appears in breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Imodium a D drug interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription pill you may take including: cholestyramine. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Imodium D Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea, vomiting, slowed breathing, drowsiness or deep sleep, and slow pulse.

If you missed Imodium a D dose: Take each dose as directed. If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near the time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Imodium D Storage: Store this medication in room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 & 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. it may be refrigerated to improve the flavor. don't store in bathroom. Keep it and every medications out of the reach of children.
