Carnitor Usage: Levocarnitine, also known as L-carnitine, is naturally occurring product used to treat genetic energy metabolism disorder (secondary carnitine deficiency). Levocarnitine is used by body to carry certain chemicals (long chain fatty acids) into the cells of body for energy metabolism. IV form of this pill is recommended if you have serious kidney disease (e.g., ESRD/dialysis) because high doses of oral form of this product may result in serious side effects (e.g., seizures, 'fishy odor') or interfere with kidney dialysis (increased nitrogen waste). Consult your physician or physician.
How to use Carnitor: Give it medication by vein (IV) over two to 3 minutes usually every 3 to four hours; or over longer time (by infusion) in an appropriate solution (normal saline or Lactated Ringers) as directed by you're doctor. dosage is based on your weight, medical condition, & response to therapy. Before using, cash it product visually for particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use the liquid. Learn how to store and discard needles and medical supplies safely. Consult your doctor.
Carnitor side effects: Nausea and vomiting may occur. If either of these effects persists or worsens, notify some your healthcare professional promptly. Promptly tell your healthcare professional if any of these side effects occur: unusual body odor, severe nausea, stomach pain. Tell your pharmacist immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: seizures. If you notice any other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Carnitor Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially about: any allergies. Tell your physician if you are pregnant before using this drug. it is not known if it drug passes in to breast milk. Consult some your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Carnitor drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist about every prescription & nonprescription medication you may use. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Carnitor Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include: diarrhea.
Carnitor special notes: do not share it pill with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed to monitor your progress.
If you missed Carnitor dose: If you miss dose, give it as soon as you remember. If it is near the clock of the next dose, skip missed dose and resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Carnitor Storage: Store the vials at room temperature 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) away from light & moisture. After dilution with IV fluids, this product is stable in room temperature for 24 hours. Discard any unused portion of the vials.
