Sulfazine Ec Usage: Sulfasalazine is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis; or stomach pain, rectal bleeding, & diarrhea caused by ulcerative colitis.
Sulfazine Ec can be used also for: this medication may also be used for inflammatory bowel disease; or stomach pain, rectal bleeding, and diarrhea caused by Crohn's disease; back pain/inflammation (ankylosing spondylitis); and may be used for other purposes as determined by your doctor.
How to use Sulfazine Ec: Take this with full glass of water, with food or after meals to prevent stomach upset. Drink at least 8 glasses of fluid daily unless otherwise directed. the coated tablets must be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew them. coating helps to prevent stomach upset. liquid suspension form of this medicine must be shaken well before measuring each dose.
Sulfazine Ec side effects: this medication may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, headache, drowsiness, dizziness or trouble sleeping during the 1st few days as you're body adjusts to the medication. If these symptoms persist or become severe, inform your physician. can cause urine to be orange-brown at color. it isn't harmful and will disappear when drug is stopped. this drug increases sensitivity to sunlight. Notify you're doctor if your condition worsens or you develop: simple bruising. rarely, this tablet can cause serious, even fatal, side effects such as severe peeling skin rash known as Stevens- Johnson syndrome, blood disorders (e.g., agranulocytosis, aplastic anemia), or liver damage. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop any of following symptoms: skin rash or blisters, unusual fatigue, persistent sore throat or fever, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, abdominal pain. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this pill, seek doctor attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.
Sulfazine Ec Precautions: Before using this pill, tell youre doctor your medical history, including: liver or kidney diseases, blood disorders, drug allergies. this medicine may make you more prone to sunburn. Wear protective clothing & sunscreen when outdoors. Before using this med, tell you're doctor if you are pregnant. it drug is excreted into breast milk & may have an effect on nursing infant. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Sulfazine Ec drug interactions: Tell you're pharmacist of all the medicines you may use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially about: warfarin, methotrexate, cyclosporine, certain oral drugs used for diabetes (sulfonylureas), phenytoin, oral PABA, aspirin or aspirin-like medications (NSAIDs), digoxin, folic acid. it drug may interfere with effectiveness of birth control tablets. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your healthcare professional. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Sulfazine Ec Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, drowsiness, & seizures.
Sulfazine Ec special notes: it is recommended to drink in least 8-12 glasses of water or other liquids each day while taking it medication unless your doctor directs you otherwise. If this drug does not appear to improve your condition after one month, inform some your healthcare professional. it may be necessary to change medications.
If you missed Sulfazine Ec dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if It's almost time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Sulfazine Ec Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight & moisture. Keep from freezing.
