Sulfasalazine Ec Usage: Sulfasalazine is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis; or stomach pain, rectal bleeding, and diarrhea caused by ulcerative colitis.

Sulfasalazine Ec can be used also since: this pill may also be used for inflammatory bowel disease; or stomach pain, rectal bleeding, and diarrhea caused by Crohn's disease; back pain/inflammation (ankylosing spondylitis); & may be used for other purposes as determined by your pharmacist.

How to use Sulfasalazine Ec: Take this with full glass of water, with food or after meals to prevent stomach upset. Drink at least 8 glasses of fluid per day unless otherwise directed. the coated pills must be swallowed whole. don't crush or chew them. coating helps to prevent stomach upset. the liquid suspension form about it medicine must be shaken well before measuring each dose.

Sulfasalazine Ec side effects: this medication may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, headache, drowsiness, dizziness or trouble sleeping during 1st some days as you're body adjusts to med. If these symptoms persist or become severe, inform youre doctor. may cause urine to be orange-brown in color. this isnt harmful and will disappear when the pill is stopped. this medication increases sensitivity to sunlight. Notify your healthcare professional if some your condition worsens or you develop: easy bruising. rarely, this medication may cause serious, even fatal, side effects such as severe peeling skin rash known as Stevens- Johnson syndrome, blood disorders (e.g., agranulocytosis, aplastic anemia), or liver damage. Seek immeditial healthcare professional attention if you develop any about next symptoms: skin rash or blisters, unusual fatigue, persistent sore throat or fever, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, abdominal pain. in the unlikely series you have an allergic reaction to it medication, seek doctor attention immediately. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.

Sulfasalazine Ec Precautions: Before using this drug, tell your pharmacist your medical history, including: liver or kidney diseases, blood disorders, drug allergies. this medicine may make you more prone to sunburn. Wear protective clothing and sunscreen when outdoors. Before using it med, tell youre physician if you are pregnant. this drug is excreted into breast milk and may have an effect on nursing infant. Consult some your physician before breast-feeding.

Sulfasalazine Ec drug interactions: Tell your physician about all medicines you may use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially of: warfarin, methotrexate, cyclosporine, certain oral medications used since diabetes (sulfonylureas), phenytoin, oral PABA, aspirin or aspirin-like drugs (NSAIDs), digoxin, folic acid. this drug may interfere with effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with youre pharmacist. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Sulfasalazine Ec Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, drowsiness, & seizures.

Sulfasalazine Ec special notes: it is recommended to drink at least 8-12 glasses of water or other liquids each day while taking this med unless your doctor directs you otherwise. If this tablet does not appear to improve your condition after one month, inform your doctor. it may be necessary to change drugs.

If you missed Sulfasalazine Ec dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; don't take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Sulfasalazine Ec Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture. Keep from freezing.
