Levocarnitine Usage: Levocarnitine, also known as L-carnitine, is naturally occurring product used to treat genetic energy metabolism disorder (secondary carnitine deficiency). Levocarnitine is used by body to carry certain chemicals (long chain fatty acids) into cells about the body for energy metabolism. IV form of it drug is recommended if you have serious kidney disease (e.g., ESRD/dialysis) because high doses about oral form of it product may result in serious side effects (e.g., seizures, 'fishy odor') or interfere with kidney dialysis (increased nitrogen waste). How to use Levocarnitine: Give this pill by vein (IV) over two to 3 minutes usually all 3 to 4 hours; or over longer time (by infusion) in an appropriate solution (normal saline or Lactated Ringers) as directed by your doctor. dosage is based on youre weight, medical condition, and response to therapy. Before using, cash it product visually for particles or discoloration. If either is present, don't use liquid. Learn how to store & discard needles and medical supplies safely. Consult youre physician.
Levocarnitine side effects: Nausea and vomiting may occur. If either of these effects persists or worsens, notify your physician promptly. Promptly tell your doctor if any about these side effects occur: unusual body odor, severe nausea, stomach pain. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: seizures. If you notice any other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or doctor.
Levocarnitine Precautions: Tell youre physician your medical history, especially of: any allergies. Tell you're pharmacist if you are pregnant before using it pill. Its not known if it drug passes into breast milk. Consult your physician before breast-feeding.

Levocarnitine Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include: diarrhea.
Levocarnitine special notes: do not share this tablet with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed to monitor your progress.
If you missed Levocarnitine dose: If you miss a dose, give this as soon as you remember. If It's near time of the next dose, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Levocarnitine Storage: Store the vials at room temperature 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. After dilution with IV fluids, this product is stable at room temperature for 24 hours. Discard any unused portion of vials.
