Timoptic Usage: this drug is used to reduce pressure in the eye caused by glaucoma or other eye conditions.
How to use Timoptic: To instill eye drops, wash hands 1-st. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch dropper or let this touch your eye. Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down lower eyelid to make a pouch. Place dropper directly over eye & administer the prescribed number about drops. see downward & gently close your eye for 1 to two minutes. Try not to blink & don't rub the eye. do not rinse the dropper. for maximum effect, it med must be used routinely as prescribed.
Timoptic side effects: it med may temporarily sting your eyes for minute or two when you 1'st use it. If stinging persists or becomes bothersome, inform your doctor. Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable after applying drops. Use caution driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. Notify you're doctor if you experience any about these rarely occurring side effects: dizziness, drowsiness, depression, irregular or slow heartbeat. in the unlikely series you have an allergic reaction to this med, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.
Timoptic Precautions: Tell your pharmacist your medical history, especially of: diabetes, thyroid disorders, muscle weakness disorders, breathing problems, heart problems, any allergies. If you are scheduled for surgery that requires anesthesia, tell the healthcare professional treating you that you use this medication. If you have eye surgery, injury or infection consult you're eye physician of continued use of this current eye drop bottle. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. this medication may be excreted into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Timoptic medication interactions: Tell your doctor about every prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: other tablets used for glaucoma, theophylline, pills used since high blood pressure, heart medications, diabetes drugs, drugs used for colds or nasal congestion. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Timoptic Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed. Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness, slow heart rate, or breathing difficulties.
Timoptic special notes: Discard the solution if this turns brown, cloudy or contains particles.
If you missed Timoptic dose: If you should miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip missed dose & resume regular dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Timoptic Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight. Avoid freezing.
