Latanoprost ophthalmic solution

Xalatan Usage: this medication is used along with another medicines to treat glaucoma and other problems related to high pressure within eye.

How to use Xalatan: One drop is placed in affected eyes once daily in the evening. Avoid touching the dropper tip to you're eye. it will help protect bottle from becoming contaminated with bacteria. Pull the lower lid out forming a pouch & place one drop in eye. Apply pressure to inside corner of eye for 1 to two minutes. this will keep medicine at eye area longer. If more than one eye tablet is being used, wait 5 minutes before using next eye drop. preservative at this product may be absorbed by contact lenses. Contact lenses should be removed before using this drug. Lenses may be reinserted 15 minutes after use of latanoprost.

Xalatan side effects: Blurred vision, burning & stinging, foreign body sensations, dry eye, lid crusting or discomfort can occur. Report these problems if they persist. Notify you're physician if any of the following occur: eye pain, red eye, itching/swelling/increased brown coloration of eye, darkening of eyelid or eyelash. Very unlikely but report: rapid vision changes, flu symptoms, chest pain, rash, headaches.

Xalatan Precautions: Tell you're physician your medical history, especially of: kidney or liver diseases, any allergies, high blood pressure, swollen or itching eyes, contact lens use. it medication can slowly (years) change color about the iris (become browned). If only one eye is being treated, only one eye might darken. the consequences about this unknown. Consult your eye pharmacist. If you develop an eye infection, trauma or have eye surgery, check with your pharmacist of continued use of same dropper bottle. it drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre pharmacist. it is unknown if it drug is excreted into breast milk. Caution is advised if breast-feeding. Consult your pharmacist.

Xalatan pill interactions: Tell your doctor of every nonprescription or prescription medication you may use, especially of eye drops containing thimerosal preservative (consult youre pharmacist). If such drops are used, wait 5 minutes after using latanoprost. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.

Xalatan Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

Xalatan special notes: do not share this drug with others.

If you missed Xalatan dose: If you miss dose, use this as soon as remembered; don't use this if It's near time for next dose. Instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Xalatan Storage: Store unopened bottles in refrigerator between 36 to 46 degrees F (2 to 8 degrees C). 1 time opened, the bottle may be stored at room temperature no higher than 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) for 6 weeks. Keep away from light & moisture. do not store in the bathroom.
