Amicar Usage: this medication is used to control bleeding. at an emergency, blood transfusions or other emergency measures may also be required.
How to use Amicar: this tablet is given into a vein (IV), generally for about 8 hours or until the bleeding has been controlled. this medication should be given slowly to minimize side effects. Use as directed. Follow every instructions for proper mixing & dilution with the correct IV fluids. Consult your healthcare professional. it drug product should be checked visually for particles or discoloration before use. If present, do not use the liquid.
Amicar side effects: Nausea, headache, diarrhea, or fatigue may occur. If any about these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Unlikely but report promptly: irregular or unusually slow pulse, pain/redness at the injection site. Very unlikely but report promptly: vision changes, one-sided weakness, ringing in ears or loss about hearing, chest pain, mental/mood changes, muscle pain or weakness, change in amount about urine, seizures, prolonged menstruation, ejaculation problems. in the unlikely part you have an allergic reaction to this medication, seek immeditial medical attention. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre pharmacist or healthcare professional.
Amicar Precautions: Tell you're physician some your medical history, including: any allergies, blood clotting disorders (e.g., hemophilia), kidney disease, bleeding within brain, bleeding of the urinary system. preservative (benzyl alcohol) which may be found in it product or in the liquid used to mix this product (diluent) can infrequently cause serious problems (sometimes death) if given by injection to an infant during first months about life (neonatal period). risk is greater with lower birth weight infants and is greater with increased amounts of benzyl alcohol. Symptoms include sudden gasping, low blood pressure, or a very slow heartbeat. Report these symptoms to the doctor immediately should they occur. If possible, preservative-free product should be used when treating neonates. it drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with some your physician. it isnot known whether this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Amicar drug interactions: Tell your physician of all prescription & non- prescription drugs you use, especially about: blood thinners (e.g., heparin, warfarin), blood factors (e.g., Factor IX, prothrombin complex concentrates). it pill may interfere with some lab tests. Make sure lab personnel know that you are using this drug. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Amicar Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness, sudden change in amount of urine, or seizures.
Amicar special notes: do not share it medication with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed to monitor your progress.
If you missed Amicar dose: Not applicable. However, if your infusion is interrupted, notify you're healthcare professional immediately to re-establish dosing.
Amicar Storage: Store vial at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 - 30 degrees C) away from light & moisture. do not freeze. Discard any unused liquid.
