Female, Age : 61 and up years old , Reason : Stage 2 breast cancer. Side Effects : Bone loss, hair texture changed from coarse to fine and thinning, vaginal dryness, hair loss from legs and arms (that's a good thing), memory blips Review : Been on it for 2 years. I had muscle pain when I first started and took 2 2-week holidays from it. After the second holiday, no muscle pain. Oncologist surprised about that. I was fortunate to have good dense bones when I started, but bone loss is so significant that I'm being put on Fosamax to prevent more loss. Hair is much finer than it's ever been. It's starting to thin quite a bit. Told my onc. that the first time I see a significant amount of scalp, I'm off the drug.
I had the hot flashes and other symptoms of menopause when I first took it (after already having gone thru it naturally), but that only lasted about 6 months. I'm also having more trouble than I ever did with finding words, remembering what I was about to do, etc. Old age? Alzheimers setting in? Femara? Dunno! |
