Review : I'm doing really well on Femara so far. I've been taking it since June and it's now October. I've been going through LOTS of stress lately with a custody suit so my counts did jump a little bit last month but were stable again this month.

    I'm happy with Femara

Review : Have taken Femara for 4 mos. Weight gain of 14 lbs attributed to the "good" of Femara. Continuous improvement in monthly blood test percentages. More strength, stamina, and perseverance for household chores. Feeling rather good. Daily Femara is combined with monthly Aredia infusions (4x).

Female, Age : 61 and up years old , Reason : Stage 2 breast cancer.
Side Effects : Bone loss, hair texture changed from coarse to fine and thinning, vaginal dryness, hair loss from legs and arms (that's a good thing), memory blips
Review : Been on it for 2 years. I had muscle pain when I first started and took 2 2-week holidays from it. After the second holiday, no muscle pain. Oncologist surprised about that. I was fortunate to have good dense bones when I started, but bone loss is so significant that I'm being put on Fosamax to prevent more loss. Hair is much finer than it's ever been. It's starting to thin quite a bit. Told my onc. that the first time I see a significant amount of scalp, I'm off the drug.

I had the hot flashes and other symptoms of menopause when I first took it (after already having gone thru it naturally), but that only lasted about 6 months. I'm also having more trouble than I ever did with finding words, remembering what I was about to do, etc. Old age? Alzheimers setting in? Femara? Dunno!

Female, Age : 51-60 years old , Reason : breast cancer.
Side Effects : joint and muscle pain, stiffness
Review : I've been taking femara for 4 years and for the 1st three I had all the typical pains. Then I read that low Vitamin D might make these side effects worse, so I got my D levels checked - I was deficient. Started taking Vitamin D3 supplements (1000 IU daily) and the foot pain in the morning, the stiffness and the 90 yr old woman feeling disappeared. I think many who suffer these side effects may be low in Vitamin D3 and it is better and easier to take this supplement than pain meds.
