Podofilox Usage: this tablet is used on the skin to treat genital warts.
How to use Podofilox: it medication is for topical use only. It's usually applied once in the morning and again in the evening for three days followed by 4 days rest period. this cycle is repeated for up to four times. To apply, use new applicator provided. Moisten the applicator tip with the solution & touch wart to cover this. Allow solution to dry. Properly dispose of the applicator and wash hands thoroughly. Be careful when applying this medication as it can irritate normal skin around application site. do not use large amounts, apply more often or use for longer period then directed. your condition will not clear faster, & the chance since side effects may be increased. Avoid contact with eyes & mucous membranes. If contact occurs, immediately wash with plenty of water and contact some your physician.
Podofilox side effects: this medication may cause burning, pain, swelling, scarring, peeling skin, chafing and tingling. Inform your doctor if these symptoms become bothersome. Notify your doctor if you experience: bleeding, vomiting, dizziness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or healthcare professional.
Podofilox Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: other illnesses, allergies (especially med allergies). this medication must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor.
Podofilox med interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you use, including: every skin products. don't start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Podofilox Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, change in mental status, weakness or fatigue, unusually slowed breathing, and seizures.
Podofilox special notes: Studies have shown this medication to be effective in 50% of patients in clearing genital warts. However, warts have recurred. Discuss expected results about therapy with your healthcare professional.
If you missed Podofilox dose: If you miss dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not apply it if this is near the time since next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Podofilox Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 & 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not freeze. Store it out of reach about children.
