    Zolmitriptan - oral

    Zomig Usage: this tablet is a 'triptan'-type pill used to treat migraine headache attacks. this does not prevent migraine headaches from occurring & shouldnot be used for other types of headaches (e.g., cluster headaches).

    How to use Zomig: Take this med by mouth as directed for migraine headache. If headache returns, the dose may be repeated after 2 hours if so directed by your pharmacist. If you have no relief with 1st dose, do not take second dose without consulting your pharmacist. do not exceed 10mg in a 24 hour period. Read the Patient information Leaflet available from your pharmacist. If you have any questions, consult your pharmacist or pharmacist.

    Zomig side effects: Nausea, dry mouth, sweating, weakness, dizziness, or drowsiness may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify you're doctor promptly. Tell your healthcare professional immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: tingling or numbness of hands or feet, pain/pressure/tightness in any body chapter (e.g., chest, throat, jaw, neck). Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: fast/slow/irregular heartbeat, severe stomach/abdominal pain, bloody diarrhea, vision changes, one-sided weakness, slurred speech, confusion. serious allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immeditial medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your doctor or healthcare professional.

    Zomig Precautions: this medication shouldn't be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult your healthcare professional or pharmacist if you have: chest pain (angina), history about heart attack, other heart or blood vessel disease (e.g., coronary artery disease with vasospasm or ischemia), uncontrolled high blood pressure, history about stroke, other types of headaches (hemiplegic or basilar migraines), certain blood circulation problems (e.g., peripheral vascular disease, ischemic bowel disease), severe liver disease. Before using this medication, tell your pharmacist or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking history, family history of heart disease or stroke, menopause, obesity, certain blood circulation disorders (e.g., Raynaud's syndrome), any allergies (especially to other 'triptan' migraine drugs). this drug may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your healthcare professional. Its not known whether this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

    Zomig medication interactions: Certain meds taken with this product could result in serious tablet interactions. don't take MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, isocarboxazid, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) for at least 2 weeks before or after taking this drug. Also, do not take other 'triptan' migraine drugs (e.g., sumatriptan), or ergot-type drugs (e.g, dihydroergotamine, ergotamine, methysergide) within 24 hours about taking zolmitriptan. Before using it medication, tell your doctor or physician of all prescription & nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially about: birth control pills, cimetidine, sibutramine, SSRI antidepressants (e.g., citalopram, fluoxetine). Tell your doctor if you take medications that cause drowsiness such as: medicine for sleep (e.g., sedatives), tranquilizers, anti-anxiety drugs (e.g., diazepam), narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines (e.g., phenothiazines such as chlorpromazine, or tricyclics such as amitriptyline), anti-seizure drugs (e.g., carbamazepine), muscle relaxants, antihistamines that cause drowsiness (e.g., diphenhydramine). money the labels on every you're medicines (e.g., cough-and-cold products) because they can contain drowsiness-causing ingredients. Ask your healthcare professional about the safe use of those goods. do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or doctor approval.

    Zomig Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness.

    Zomig special notes: do not share this medication with others. Medical tests may be performed periodically to monitor some your progress or cash for side effects. Consult your pharmacist for more details.

    If you missed Zomig dose: Not applicable.

    Zomig Storage: Store at room temperature between 68 & 77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from light & moisture. do not store at the bathroom. Keep every medicines away from children and pets.
